i have always struggled to understand what prayers god answers and which ones he avoids.
most religions teach that god answers prayers, so people must feel that their prayers are being answered, yet the type of prayers seem to be very selective.. .
if god answered broad based prayers, then children in third world countries would not be starving, so he does not seem to interfere in global issues.
Steelers won today, I'm sure lots of people prayed for that...
Then again... lost of people prayed for the Titans to win too...

how did satan tempt a person who has no wrong desires?.
Could you quote a scripture for me that says Jesus was omnipotent? Thanks.
^ Col 1:15-17:He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

how did satan tempt a person who has no wrong desires?.
^ Dude, Satan brought Jesus so high that he could see the whole coin shapped earth and said he could have it if he wanted it!
Jesus was like, "Dude, I made this, it's not yours to give"
Then Satan was all, "Damn, you too smart brotha!"

how did satan tempt a person who has no wrong desires?.
For those who believe he was not "fully God", then the temptations seem less of a problem, but I would ask them, how does one tempt a "perfect" man? Does a perfect man have wrong desires?
Adam was apparently perfect as well, except he didn't have the experience of billions of years of being an omnipotent entity (not to mention the First Cause, or the first creation of the First Cause, depending on how you interpret the Bible).

the problem with the jehovah's witness claims to a divine government is that it's unable to reach the front office.. what do i mean by that?.
what if i took $500,000 and opened up a local office?
and what if i moved in computers, put in printers and bought at&t letterhead?
The parable of the blind leaders leading the blind is an abject lesson in what happens when self appointed leaders attempt to lead without the spritual gifts of selection, ordination, discernment and revelation.
Can you point to an organization that meets your criteria here?

judaism, islam and christianity all have faced the same problems.. their total devotion to the supernatural eventually conflicts with everyday life and makes for failure, despondency and conflict.. each of the 3 religions has reacted to the modern world by the same process.
schism followed by anti-mainstream rhetoric.. for judaism, in the 1st century, jews either clung to the sacrificial system of priests or formed messianic apocalyptic cults or went off into the desert away from everybody and everything.. for muslims, when muhammed died without naming a successor, schisms led to internal wars and the rise of shiaa and sunni struggling for dominance.
when swallowed by the turkish empire, muslims tried combining politics with religion and failed.
snare and a racket.

there is an implicit pact between the magician and the audience.. .
an audience attending a magic act is in attendance for two main reasons.. 1.entertainment.
2.the desire to match wits with a puzzle and its solution and the determined effort to be amazed when this fails.. yet, above all else, the audience does not really wish to discover the secret.
Born ins and those converted as adults are in 2 VERY different categories, IMO.
Oh yes I agree fully. Apples and oranges really.

the watchtower is nothing but an anti-mainstream christianity group.
i have been pondering this for a while now and need to get it down in writing.. side by side, mainstream christianity (msc) doctrine is almost always the polar opposite of watchtower (wt) doctrine.. examples:.
wt worships yhwh (jehovah).
The Watchtower is nothing but an anti-mainstream Christianity group
I have been pondering this for a while now and need to get it down in writing.
Side by side, Mainstream Christianity (MSC) doctrine is almost always the polar opposite of Watchtower (WT) doctrine.
Examples:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
WT worships YHWH (Jehovah)
MSC worships Jesus
----------------------------------------------------------------------
WT claims the soul means just the flesh and can die
MSC claims the soul is immortal and endures past death
----------------------------------------------------------------------
WT claims punishment for not following God is eternal death
MSC claims punishment for not following Jesus is Hell
----------------------------------------------------------------------
WT claims Jehovah, Jesus are separate and unequal entities and that the Holy Spirit is Jehovah’s active force and not a separate entity in itself
MSC claims that Jehovah, Jesus and the Holy Ghost are God – God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost
----------------------------------------------------------------------
WT claims that Christ died on an upright stake
MSC claims that Christ died on a Crux or Cross
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The WT claims savior is determined by works
MSC claims savior is determined by faith
----------------------------------------------------------------------
^ There are hundreds of other examples that are equally black and white polar opposite beliefs.
Think about this for a second…
Is it reasonable to conclude that mainstream Christianity gets EVERYTHING wrong and are none the wiser? An interesting concept.
It is obvious when you read Russell’s and Rutherford’s writings that they had a deep seeded hatred for mainstream Christianity. They felt that they were defacing the Bible, which they could have been.
But what does the Bible teach? To LOVE your enemies!
I think it is reasonable to conclude that mainstream Christianity is a main enemy of the WT Society.
Does the WT treat their cardinal enemy with love?
Well let’s use the New World Translation’s definition of love to figure that question out:
1 Cor 13: 4: Love is long-suffering and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, does not get puffed up, 5 does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury. 6 It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. 7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Is this how the WT treats their cardinal enemy of mainstream Christianity?
I think it’s obvious that it’s a resounding NO!
If you are still in the Watchtower society I think you deserve to know that you are caught in the middle of a RELIGIOUS CIVIL WAR!
The WT is not about “truth” it is about proving to mainstream Christianity that they’ve got it wrong, plain and simple. This is their prime directive and they follow it to a serious error.
Which of course is not very Christian of them…
