Most people are deists because evolution can't truly explain the origin of the natural world
I suppose that's pretty natural since, by definition, that's not what evolution studies....
i initially joined this group a couple of years back thinking it would be a great place to spread the real good news about deism.
if you're unfamiliar with deism, please check out the site:.

read the account of moses taking the credit for the water provision miracle and that of king david's folly and his consequences.. ...read them.... ...you are still reading.... ...ok now you have that fresh in your mind.. jehovah had a correctional arrangement in place for all his spokesmen.
story of jonah would work great too.
the point being that in the bible god has always had this correctional arrangement for the leaders of his earthly organization.. that being said, where did that arrangement go?
If you think people are 'beating you' in a special way
So unfair. I usually have to pay extra for that.
i talked to a current jw today and he told me that it came out in print from the wtbts that you can be a memebr of the ymca as long as you don't associate with the other worldlys that go there..
omg!!!
just a few years ago i was told that i couldn't be at the ymca because it was a christian org.. .
Good thing they were just paying for a service at the UN... Oh....wait...
yeah so in genesis we read how people began building a tower which would reach up to jehovah in heaven....must have been damn tall....rather then just stop them, god changes everyones language.....one guys speakin french.....another speakin russian and so on!
can't finish the tower now can they!!
this is not very scientific......does anyone believe this is how languages got started???
So...no. Besides which, French is a relatively new language.
i have 2 small kids, ages 4 and 5 yrs and one on the way (via adoption!).
my husband and i faded/suddenly disappeared last fall, never to go back to meetings.
we outed ourselves and told our super hardcore parents/family members that we didn't believe it anymore, were choosing a different path etc.
Jehovah's Witnesses never take this antagonistic rant toward unbelieving family.
See the Watchtower from the 50s that implied the only reason you can't stone your unbeleiving family is that darn law gets in the way.
And you once said you would send pictures if I PM'ed you to prove that you are hot. You never answered me back. Why did you lie to me?
so i screwed up big time here.
there's a nice young witness who is leaving the "truth".
i sent them a short facebook message and it seems their parent intercepted it...they asked if i sent anything to their kid today.. i said it jws are cultlike, i had doubts i wished i listened to, and to follow their heart.
"Uh oh, i must have left my FB account logged in at the library or someone hacked it"
Or just go away.

What do you do with the kids? Well, you can make some nice steak brouchettes out of them or a spicy stew....oh, wrong thread.
ok, this is driving me nuts for whatever reason i cant get past the bolded part.
can someone maybe explain that a little?
if this even makes sense, im usually not t his dense, i've been reading this for ever and for some reason i keep getting thrown off track at that part.
I don't go beyond the things that are written.
The bible never says 607, so if you beleive that, then yes you do.

I think you were answered!
That question was answered strictly to your satisfaction!
I am not gonna repeat!
Clearly it wasn't since I am asking. You thought wrong.
in 1 kings 3:9, solomon asks for wisdom to discern between good and evil.
in verse 10 we are told this request was pleasing to god that solomon had asked for this instead of riches.. wth?
adam and eve got kicked out of the garden for wanting that same knowledge!.
And even if my thought is wrong, it still doesn't wipe away that they did not ask God for understanding. They just did what they wanted.
Good thing, too, since he lied to them out of the gate.
