I couldn't help myself...
by mrsjones5 inthis morning i took my husband to his ssdi medical appointment and just as we were about to leave i spotted an oct 2010 watchtower and awake on the waiting room table next to the appointment window (there were only sports mags and newsweeks prior).
those mags weren't there when we got there and the waiting room was pretty full, almost standing room only, so i think there were jws in the room.
when i spotted them i said to myself "oh hell no!

Is the World really getting worse?
by Nickolas ina fundamental platform of the watchtower bible and tract society, from which its fearsome prognostications are launched, is the inexorable deterioration of the world.
the world is becoming a less and less hospitable place in which to live.
it seems with news of every earthquake, every natural catastrophe, every epidemic, every atrocity, and every disaster manmade or otherwise, there is the inevitable shaking of the finger and stern proclamation, "see?

Twilight Zone: To See the Invisible Man (Shunning)
by cabasilas ini found one of my favorite twilight zone episodes at you tube.
it's entitled "to see the inivisible man.
" it deals with a parallel universe where people are punished by one year's "invisibility" if they don't obey laws.

Have been away a while
by robinhoodxldr inrobinhoodxldr noticed its been 8 years since i first posted and only 6 posts.
i'll be 53 next year and along with my slightly younger wife lady marion we have both been busy making a living trying to save up for our retirement in this down economy.
sometimes i find myself wishing we had all the money we spent on dress clothes and gas money attending meetings over all the years.

Do you believe in censoring information at all?
by sabastious inas witnesses we all grew up with our information heavily censored.
it has got me to thinking: do i think censoring information is ever a good thing?.
i had this bethelite friend back when i was a witness and he would be careful who he told about the craziness behind those doors.

Stephen Hawkings is a nutter for believing in a fantasy
by Mad Dawg instephen hawkings from here:.
in the grand design we explain why, according to quantum theory, the cosmos does not have just a single existence, or history, but rather that every possible history of the universe exists simultaneously.
we question the conventional concept of reality, posing instead a "model-dependent" theory of reality.

On the day you eat...
by PSacramento insince it has been brought up a few time, i though it cool to post this interpretation of this part of genesis 2:.
http://biologos.org/blog/genesis-creation-and-ancient-interpreters-on-the-day-you-eat-of-it/.
one issue that occupied the attention of many early interpreters is found in genesis 2:16-17, where god warns not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for on the day you eat of it you shall die.. the problem is well known: adam (and eve) did eat of the fruit, but they did not die on that day.

by eric356 inwell, the wt is back on it: "today, there is a rising tide of atheistic and evolutionist propaganda dependent on flawed and baseless reasoning.
we should not let this flood of faulty thinking confuse or intimidate us.
