My Standing "Bet" With JW Family
by TD inonce a year, i attend the sunday afternoon session of the district convention with my wife.
my wife and her family would like me to attend more jw functions, but besides not being terribly religious at all, i am put off by the open dishonesty of the jw parent organization.. this has led to a "bet" of sorts.
if i can make it through the sunday session without hearing a single demonstrably false statement made from the stage, i will attend more functions at the local level.. things are usually just fine until the bethel speaker takes the stage.

by JediMaster indid anyone here claim to be of the anointed and partook of the emblems at memorial when you were still a witness???
if so, was there really a force telling you, you were special and would go to heaven?

Olin, so...I am pretty decent at mat, but I might need a little clarification on that last part about switching between the 360/365.
So they use the 7 times as 360 day, day for a year, etc., to get to the number of years to countdown, but then switch to literal years when doing doing the actual countdown?

if this is true, what would the watchtower org.

They do and don't have the right. Since the JW's rented the facility, they have the right to search anyone entering the facility. If you say "no thanks" and walk away, they don't.

Lady Lee, making something an ISO is basically making a file that is an image of the CD. With an ISO, you can make exact copies of CD's, send the ISO image to someone and it will look just like the CD using the right software. You can use software to make a virtual CD drive and point it to the virtual CD (the ISO file) and it will appear as if you have the ISO.
This is usefule for me as I use a netbook and don't have a CD in my laptop.

Good point, Black Sheep. I also plan to print out the 5/22/90 Awake, pages 12-14. Logical Fallacies in debate and how to about them. My favorites and most used will probably be ad hominem and appeal to authority.

The 1993 copy that I have is an original copy but will not run on my computer using WinXP although it did work on earlier versions of Windows
If you could rip it and make an ISO, you could possibly run it in compatibility mode OR run it in a virtual machine :)
