Evidence! How did you come to know reality?
by zannahdoll inis it possible that when we (as a people) make an advancement in science and learn new facts that they sometimes disprove what was once considered fact?
unless you test something for yourself you are taking the word of someone else.
or do you trust that things are certain?

Adam and Eve and free will
by inbetween inpondering over this dilemma:.
lets just say, for arguments sake, the report in genesis about the first humans is not an allegory, but a true event:.
watchtower teaches, that adam sinned, because he used his free will to disobey.. god grants free will to his human creation, because he wants them to serve him out of love.. ok, good, but i give an example: i meet a girl, tell her, she is free to love me, but if not, i kill her.. would you call this free will ?.

For we all stumble many times. If anyone does not stumble in word, this one is a perfect man, able to bridle also [his] whole body. James 3:2
That says we all stumble. It doesn't say anything about Jesus.
For such a high priest as this was suitable for us, loyal, guileless, undefiled, separated from the sinners, and become higher than the heavens. Hebrews 7:26
Never mentions the word perfection or ransom.
one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus, who gave himself a corresponding ransom for all
That says he was a ransom for all, not an equal ransom for Adam in perfection.
Try again?

But I can show you the scriptures (and have shown you them) where Jesus talked about spiritual life and death - that you could be physically alive and still spiritually dead.
Oooops, looks like we simulposted! I knew we were tight like that, kid :)
So, those scriptures never said ANYTHING about Adam and Eve. Extending it out to them is wishful thinking or conjecture.
Adressing your question, however, Paul DID say that through Adam sin and death entered into the world. Granted, that doesn't ever say he was perfect, but that's what the JW's and some (not me) use to suggest he and Eve were perfect prior to the sin. I don't read that into what he said, but some do.

Wait, NVL, that sounds suspiciously like my story.
Did yours involve a flight from LGA to DFW with a cute redhead and some scotch?

The moon landings WERE faked. I've shpoinked and sprunged this information myself. Oh, what, you can't? Boo hoo.
I actually have a really funny story behind that involving a hot girl and a 4 hour flight. Remind me to tell it sometime.

Bible Contradictions
by brotherdan ini will go out on a limb and say that this has probably been discussed alot.
but for my own personal benefit i'd like to hear everyones "favorite" bible contradiction.
i'd also like to hear any refutes that anyone has to any of these contradictions.

And yes, both Samuel L. Jackson and Morgan Freeman are both equally God. No contradictions there, sonny.
And so it James Earl Jones. It's a trinity.

You bet it is. Following the flock is pretty fucking easy. Thinking for yourself takes some effort
You should try it sometime. Being a mouthbreathing hater is the easiest thing in the world to be.
