Throwing this out there...
by NY23brown indo jehovah's witnesses tend to contact family members no longer associated with the religion, especially around holidays, and try to get them to "come back"?
i'm married (never been a jw) and husband hasn't been a part of that religion since his teens (he's now 39).
i've written here before regarding my in-laws sending people to our house from kingdom hall, etc.

Wow NY23brown. I'm sorry this is happening to you. Is it possible that you can ask your husband if he is being pressured by family? Have you asked why he didn't want to do Christmas this year? I do know that a lot of us with JW familes have experienced some hounding to get us back in the fold. I'm not married, so I can't really offer anything about the inlaw problems, but I'm sure some folks here will be able to help you.

Emotionally blackmailing an acutely mentally ill person!
by serenitynow! inso my sister recently got out of the hospital after being suicidal and expressing a lot of delusional thoughts.
she is doing a lot better, but she is by no means back to her normal self.
my sister is an exjw, technically just inactive, but she reads the several versions of the bible and prays.

So my sister recently got out of the hospital after being suicidal and expressing a lot of delusional thoughts. She is doing a lot better, but she is by no means back to her normal self. My sister is an exJW, technically just inactive, but she reads the several versions of the bible and prays. She also is not like me, in that she does not involve herself in apostate activities.
Anyway my sister spoke with our very hardcore JW aunt on the phone a week ago. My sister mentioned perhaps moving to Ohio close to where my aunt lives. My aunt stated that she would only help her if she went back to the meetings and out in field service regularly.
This made me so mad! So if my sister is not a JW my aunt won't give a crap about her? That is sick! I was also really angry because my sister is still pretty fragile emotionally. Oddly enough, my sister was not that bothered by it. She told my aunt that she has her own relationship with Jehovah.
I swear, if I talk to my aunt I will be addressing this issue. I hate the way they are with mentally ill people.

I remember my grandma in her declining years crying because she couldn't find her keys in her large purse with a thousand different compartments. She said that Satan hid her keys from her. I suggested that she had too many compartments and it wasnt Satan's fault she couldn't find her keys. She yelled at me to "stop taking up for him!" lol. Of course now we know that the reason she couldn't find her keys was early Alzheimer's.

I am sure everyone has heard about the 2 headed baby recently born in Brazil. Well the FB JW news, library, etc. group had some comments on it. One sister was quite adamant that Satan is the cause of birth defects. I had never heard that. Is that new? Even as a JW I thought that Satan was being blamed for stuff that was probably not his fault.

" i think it's funny because anytime i try to say anything to a jw that is not praising the f&ds and the org, i get nothing but anger from them.

It's full of people on antidepressants, antianxiolytics, and antipsychotics...
I say it's the lucky congregations who have people who actually are medicated. I've always been around people at the hall who needed to be on meds in the worst way, but weren't. My mom specifically. If she had been on an antipsychotic years ago, my life could have been so different.

When I was at the hall I was always stressed and angry. Working 40+ hour weeks, then having to go to the meeting 3 times a week and do fs every week, how could I be anything other than stressed?

Well, that is what the title should say. It actually says, "Why are people so angry?" I think it's funny because anytime I try to say anything to a JW that is not praising the F&DS and the org, I get nothing but anger from them. There's also an article about anxiety. I look forward to reading these pearls of wisdom later.
