All the terminology changes are so stupid! I do believe they change things just to easily pinpoint those who are not active JWs. I read somewhere that if you use the wrong words, that they can tell how long you have been not keeping up with "jah's chariot". I never even heard about alternative witnessing. I just called it street work or street witnessing. And I refuse to play their game of controlling my language by updating their terms. I remember a TMS overseer counseled his own wife pretty harshly from the platform about arranging to "meet at the rendevous" during her talk on the school. I was totally a believing JW at the time but I was still thinking, "damn!" awkward!

The latest change in Watchtower vocabulary to catch out the unwary
by slimboyfat ini got a copy of the recent kingdom ministry the other day and it reminded me of something in the book the orwellian world of jehovha's witnesses by heather and garry botting.
it's on the front page of the december issue of the km, they have a heading called "not 'alternative' witnessing" where they explain that the term is no longer considered appropriate and "public" witnessing should be used instead.. in the orwellian world of jehovah's witnesses the bottings discuss the importance of the particular language jws use to set themselves apart from other people.
they redefine common words to give them a particular slant, such as "brother", "sister", "literature" and so on.

Already reminded of the memorial twice this month
by Joey Jo-Jo inso the elder who previously conducted my book study reminded me this month during a visit (during field service hours, how nice on them always thinking about me so they can put time on their sheets.
he is the type of elder who does not study too deep and takes everything the faithfull and discreet slave says at face value, he told me that the bible alone can be used to calculate 607bce, pointing out to him that neither 607 or 582 can be concluded with the bible would be pointless, he gave me the two volume insight into the scriptures that said little about 607bce.
he might be an ex-catholic but he has all the dogmatic qualities a practicing catholic has.

Are there not JEhovah's Witnesses on this board. i dont think this is an appropriate board for official learning since oppossers are allowed to post things. to all that gave me great suggestions i appreciate it but im done here. ill look toward the brothers and sisters for real information. p.s. ive heard both sides and the opposing one its crap. thanks. goodbye

Exactly. Just like back in the day before Juicy Couture made jogging suits attractive and acceptable outside of the gym, you'd see a woman in thick, bulky sweatpants in public, and right away you know she had just given up on life. Given up on being a woman, that is; which is the same thing to me.
