This made me awfully sad

just came across this post, where a disfellowshipped blogger posted the letter from his witness mother in which she cuts off the relationship between them.

although i was the one to slam the door and cut off communication with my viper of a mother, my heart goes out to this guy - it's to their shame that the witnesses allow their religion to do this to family..

My sister you are sooo right. WOW! How sad... My husband comes from a family of 7. The oldest is inactive sleeping with her boyfriend and everyone in the family and cong. are fine with her. The second is disfellowshipped and is a lesbian and they help her financially when possible and said they would take care of her (move in) when her health gets too bad. The fourth child is gay and practices his life on the side but goes to all the meetings and works behind the counter at kingdom hall. Child # 6 committed adultery and was disfellowshipped for a time but the family still supported him and worked with him in the family business. Child #7 has moved away but been disfellowshipped I think three times and the family still invited her to family reunions and worked with her in the family business. Now she is sleeping with her future husband that is also a witness lol and the family of JWs LOVE him and support him.

My dear husband that is number 3 is disfellowshipped for disagreeing and speaking out of his faith and partaking at the memorial. He has been along with me disfellowshipped for "apostacy" and they have had nothing to do with us or our three sons for 14 1/2 years now!!!!

YES YES They have made their love conditional by choice. Because they are okay with the rest of the siblings just not him.

I am truly sorry to have read this letter also. I can relate to this as my mother died 18 months ago with the same feelings towards me and now my three sons. How sad to have allowed a religion to loose out on the lives of your grandchildren. And her hope is that they will not even survive armaggedon because they are worldly.

She did mention in the letter this was the path she has chosen. And she did mention to her son that he also has chosen his path. So if there is no law against LOVE which is the identifying mark ofa TRUE christian, and we are told to LOVE our ENEMIES then why can't religion put aside, there still not be love shown. I'm sure the son didn't tell his mother because of the path I have chosen I will no longer be speaking to you. (I'm tired of the excuse, "I still love you, but I can't show you") The society has printed that they do not make families choose between them and their children. We all know that is a LIE. But these people are taught to show greater love to the world in general that "practices supposedly gross sins" that to their own flesh.

Yes, I completely understand the control this cult has, believe me. But that little voice inside (spirit) that some say "gutfeeling" or "conscience" is always speaking to us. It is up to us whether we hear it today and save a whole lotta pain or wait decades and have regrets that we didn't listen earlier. Or never listen to it and allow man to control who we LOVE and NOT LOVE!

I truly have compassion for this story, but there still is really NO excuse for this behavior. I say this because I have lived through this. And I have done this personally with family and I am not proud of it today. But thank Jah I am who I am today because of it.

Anyone Besides Me Have Difficulty Saying The Word "Jehovah"?

even when i was a devout witless, i always winced a bit when i heard or especially had to utter "jehovah".

it's just one of those uncomfortable words to say like "colostomy", "vagina", or "erectile dysfunction"..

when the truth cannot speak truth (read this Brooklyn and lurkers)

the whole court victory of candace brings into sharp focus the fundamental flaw with the jehovah's witnesses, and one that all jws need to think on because it has absolutely nothing to do with 'apostate' teachings, their cherished doctrines or persecution.. when the truth can no longer speak the truth, it has become the lie.. it should be obvious (but will not be) to all jws that the watchtower society, its leaders and any other entity related to it, are not able to morally defend their position.

being unwilling to own up and publicly admit the policies on abuse perpertrators has been deliberatly flawed, that they have failed the children and families demonstrates they can no longer speak truth.. that they cannot apologise says they cannot speak truth, that they would appeal a court of law for chastising them by awarding such a payout says they cannot speak truth.. that the governing body hide behind a legal corporation and its legal department says they cannot speak truth, for the truth is out.

the truth is that their 'signed' policy letters to elders detailing instructions on how to comply with laws while not really complying, on how to destroy documents and how to draw up new lists after removing names are now in the public domain like it or not.

This molestation case is one of thousands that exists within this organization that the WTBS has hidden over for YEARS!

They Governing body are PERFECTLY described of at John 10: 12,13.................."They are the HIRED MAN that doesn't REALLY care about the sheep to begin with. They as a whole never have. They and especially in the last 20 or 30 years have abandoned the sheep to the WOLVES in sheeps covering (the ELDERS) who treat the sheep abusively, (obvious to see it now with sexual abuse) on top of other abusives and lording over.

As s result it causes the poor sheep to be "skinned and thrown about" therefore they scatter. The GOVERNING BODY, the WTBS and many many elders as a whole don't love the sheep like our master did. They never have. They don't belong to man really, but man (the org) have tried with success to control them with great fear and judgement and conscience issues. It always works!!! Thats religion for YA!

This is why John 10 continues with the invitation that our Lord says His sheep wouls know his voice, come out and follow HIM! 10: 26-28

Free yourself before more innocent victims are wounded and scarred for life.

how could they actually believe their new "overlapping generation" doctrine?

wouldn't they have access to anything ever printed and have knowledge of all the false prophecy?

Of course they don't believe it all. They don't actually really even care. After all they are only "The hired man", who is NO shephard and doesn't care about the sheep, abandons the sheep and hands them over to the wolves." JOHN 10:12-13 It is the wolves in sheeps clothing that tear apart the poor sheep. These are elders and those alike that shephard the flock unlovingly. It is for this reason that the scripture says "they scatter"!!!!!!! They drive them away...

Is There Any Real Difference Between Elders & Priests?

In THIS world, probably not. The religious priests are actually less judgemental and more foregiving than elders. Elders are truly "wolves in sheeps covering." They eat the flock alive. And spit them out!!!!!!

In the REAL spiritual , Jaheshua our TRUE "Priest" would never disfellowship, shun, treat as dead any family or people for that matter. He forgave, showed mercy, compassion, pity, and unconditional love despite what individuals were practicing in their daily lives. He truly showed unconditional love, set the example for all of us, showed us what our heavenly father is REALLY like (not man) and left ALL judgement calls up to His father. Never was hypocritical, and reminded us constantly that whatever we measure out, it will be the same in return. SO be careful!!!!!! And we all truly have a lot we want overlooked by foregiveness. I know MY debt is great!!!!!!!!!

while still a believer, ray's books helped me to see that the idea of there being two classes of christians was a 'unique interpretation' of the watchtower society with no basis in scripture.

Yes the society changed the "one HOPE, One faith One baptism" to TWO and it is they that called organizations Apostates for doing this.

Interesting read on page 37 of the Proclaimers book. Notice especially the side caption. You'll shake your head.

For tonite to those that believe they should partake at honme. GREAT! For those of us that are going to the kingdom hall it is not to worship with them. It is making "public declaration of our faith" as an example and warning to THEM!

If anybody asks me, "WHYYYYare you here?" My response is "Why wouldn't I be?" I am partaking of emblems that demonstrate my faith in a covenant that will give me eternal life in the kingdom through Christ. My question to them would be "WHYYY are you here? You pass over this opportunity EVERY year. So why bother even really being here?"
