Just seeing this for the first time. What a GREAT story.
LOL
hello dear friends.... well..the saga continues!!
as many of you know last new years the jws attacked our "frosty" and egged our home.
" the co said, "so you are both not willing to meet with the elders..?".
Just seeing this for the first time. What a GREAT story.
LOL
it's hard to even read this without bursting into laughter.
and just think, we all used to agree with this.. damn, it feels good to be on the outside looking in.. .
Mall Cop - I do remember that. Just saw one of them in a stack of books recently.

If you don't have hemmorroids when you arrive at my former kingdom hall, you will have them after a two hour meeting.

That was my baptism song also. I had never noticed that until now.
And teel - yes that is bizzare. We are willing to KILL a life in order to show respect for the SYMBOL of life. It makes no sense.
Thanks for the comments everybody.

hereiam - and remember, we were actually ready to DIE for this stuff. Totally convinced that we couldn't possibly be wrong. Craziest thing I have ever seen.
just wanted to start this to get a pulse on how many young jw's are exiting percentage wise recently in the witness organization.
in my family i have 8 young people aged 21 through 35 .
these are my son and two daughters and my older siblings 5 adult children.
This is a little off topic Flipper - but kinda related and I think you will find it interesting.
My former congregation had 100 publishers in 1990. Between now and then, I have composed a list of 62 persons that are gone. That's a mixture of 4 disassociations, lots of DF's and a ton of people that just quit and never came back. And most of those people were between 17 and 35. But that's 62%, and that's just from my memory in a ten minute span when I quickly jotted down the list. I'm sure there are a handful more that I forgot about.
this week i finally finished college.
feels great to finally be completed.. i have to say that the process has been therapeutic.
a year and a half ago when i started to go back i still defined myself in terms of my experience as a jw.. that is all gone now.
Congratulations Drew. That's awesome. I threw away a paid scholarship to college in order to "pioneer" for 5 years. Now that I'm out, i will soon be thinking seriously about going back. I sure wish I had invested that 2-4 years right after high school before I was married and had responsibilities.
Best of luck to you.
