  What prayers does God answer?

  i have always struggled to understand what prayers god answers and which ones he avoids.

  most religions teach that god answers prayers, so people must feel that their prayers are being answered, yet the type of prayers seem to be very selective.. .

  if god answered broad based prayers, then children in third world countries would not be starving, so he does not seem to interfere in global issues.

  you came home from work one day, sat down, and turned on the tv.

  there is a sudden announcement that the un has banned all religion.

  not a co-incidence that pythagoras and many other enlightened ones came along at this time.

  it comes in periodic waves from the center of the milky way..... despite the bible saying that fortune tellers are forbidden, michelangelo was allowed to paint this very well known fortune-teller in the sistine chapel.

  I recommend the book "History of the End of the World" by Jonathon Kirsch. I really enjoyed it.

  The important thing I learned about Revelation is that every person who has ever wrote about what the book of Revelation means has been wrong, and all of those people over centuries are now dead. Just like everything the WT said about Revelation from 1879 to 1950 was wrong, and everything they are saying now will one day be thrown out because it's wrong.

  i don't think it ever was in my heart, that is why i have found it relatively easy to leave and not be scared of the fear belief system.

  i feel kind of bad for people here who were so immersed that they still get these weird twinges of armageddon fears, etc.

  that has to be difficult to still have that looming feeling.

  mamalove - it was in my heart 100%. They had me snookered all the way. I thought this stuff was for real. The greatest day of my life was when I realized it was lies upon lies upon lies and that I didn't have to do this anymore. In about 2 months, I was completely able to shake off the fear and guilt and walk away happy.

  laverite - I did look into being a pharmacist. After a lot of research, I decided that i didn't think it would be a good fit for me. I like the idea of Pharmacy, but with the long schooling and such I don't think I can make that work..
