Thank you - very interesting story and your inability to use the letter a has made me smile. Your response to your father when "invited" to tell the elders about your experiences was simply perfect. What a wise, intelligent girl you were and brave! Great to hear you've gone on to get qualifications and a beautiful son!
I share your frustration at growing up with illogical beliefs, twisted moralties that you suffered so much from, isolation and hypocracy. I found I would sit down at dinner with my parents and say nothing, just eat and leave as we had nothing we agreed upon. The point when I felt free of it was when I stopped going to meetings and lived away from JWs.
Living back at home and seeing life from the different perspective of now having a son will drag up a lot more feelings of frustration I'm sure. Hang in there - it sounds like you've got your head screwed on right, you've got good prospects and part of your own small but great family.

Great to hear you're improving and over the worst albeit still a way off being normal again. When you're off the meds and happy to look in the mirror again I'm sure you'll be able to laugh about this over a few cold beers. Well maybe a lot of cold beers.

Without knowing all the facts I'd hope that Candace takes the money and is able to move on with her life. Until the amount is settled, which might then take many months or years she won't see any money. She has already gone through the pain of trial, been a shining light to any who have suffered due to the WBTS's broken policies and hopefully started the wheels of change in motion.
$8m in damages is what the WBTS have proposed to pay as a result of their malice - that seems pretty damning in itself - they were found guilty and now want to pay this to settle.
That's more than a dollar for every JW in the world being offered in compensation - wow!!!

You may well have found the holy grail here. Reporting on the charities commission site needs to be clear and in line with the purposes and strategy for the registered charity.
The spend of £16 per annum could either refer to an annual admin fee or potentially for the purchase of assets at a nominal value of £1 each i.e. 16 kingdom hall freeholds were transferred into it's ownership during the year.

nP - there have been many times when on a business level the impact of the queen not being the queen has been discussed and taken very seriously as it would have resulted in commercial failings. I attended those meetings, I worked on contingencies.
Shortly after the olympic decision was made in 2006 the odds of her abdication that same year were 10 to 1 and would have been significantly higher within the next 7 years especially if you include potential ill health.
I never heard it means it couldn't happen = pig ignorant
So back to why nP is a picnic short of a hamper...

One can apply any logic one likes to why a games was awarded to a city after the event, however when it was awarded to the UK back in 2005 I suspect few would have expected the queen to still be the queen seven years later. It was decided by an electronic vote which was very close so a pretty reductive argument to suggest "it was a present for the queen".
