well, time for an update.... new house is in the country, just over an hour out of the city.
we came up and camped in the new house on settlement night...much to the shock of the real estate agent who thought we were joking!
i mean, it does need some work, and the plumbing is dodgy but works, the bathroom has all the pipes exposed and the toilet is akin to sitting in an old shed.... any way, we stay and a friend loaded up the truck saturday night and delivered our furniture sunday morning, it was not a rest saturday though as the place resembled a rubbish tip.
Congrats. art studio - bet the light is great. next apostafest at yours? - we'll bring the tents.

okay, so my girls all moved out and we had three empty rooms and a lot of bills to pay.
so we decided to rent the upstairs room with its own bath.
we also have a three car garage and the single car garage is fully drywalled, has its own entrance and is huge.
she doesn't care and thinks you're nice enough to take advantage of. She signed the lease knowing full well she has never walked the dog or picked up it's mess and wanted to get her stuff into the house before paying you a cent. The $400 is to keep you happy for a while. i would be surprised if any more money arrives - she'll just be begging for a longer and longer extension. I'm sorry but this will only go downhill from here. follow JeffT's advice.
Hope it works out for you.

anyone else have any experience of a couple of months after leaving the org...feelings etc??.
my husband has left too and feels the same as i do.. but we just seem to be arguing constantly at the moment, though i do feel this may be my own fault!
i feel soooo angry, bitter and annoyed at how things have turned out.
Bez,
I haven't been through what you have but can understand why the circumstances you're in would make you feel how you do.
I had the luxury of being able to fade over a long period of time so I had new friends in place and a surrogate congregation that being my workplace. Still it was difficult.
Leaving the community of the KH that you have been in for your whole life will remove so many of your securities. At a time when you are at home with not one but two kids (getting my serious respect right now) is when you need support, friends and as you say a purpose. If those things have been removed then of course you're going to be feeling low, even if you had no medical issues or dealing with the aftermath of a cult.
In many ways it will be difficult for your husband too, although doing a job, being able to have at least work colleagues to spend much of the day with as part of a routine hopefully will make things better.
These are the tough times in life. It does get better.
best wishes

well, i'm outta here.
i initially started researching jehovah's witnesses because my wife has been studying with them so i can't digest anymore of the religious hate i'm reading here.
i was shown this by someone here and told i needed to protect my wife:.
Hi KatP,
Good advice for Spade. Welcome!!

i have been reading this website for months now.
i am a born in who holds absolutely no animosity toward any witness.
i have had weeks and weeks of trouble trying to log in, but i'm here now.. long story short, i am one of 4 children who were raised as witnesses.
Welcome drewcoul,
I'm not sure what was in the water in your area because most of our elders seemed to behave better (ok apart from the unconvicted paedo elder who left behind his business and moved for fear of reprisals from victims and the odd large KH fund embezzlement).
Brilliant point about the work being completed in the 20th century (and thanks to Ynot for the backup). I was very active around that time and along with the other pioneers we all believed it would happen in the 90's. Shocking it has been covered over!
We all react to things differently and it's great to hear someone who has no issue with the people.
Welcome again

as of today , it is illegal in mass.
and for good reason, although i have been guilty of it..
I've held a laptop on my knees and emailed while driving (I was stationary in a traffic jam though). Using mobiles is distracting but texting far worse. Any distractions can cause accidents.
My cousin was seriously injured while waiting at traffic lights. A car slammed into the back of her, rolling her car over in the process. It turned out the driver was checking out a girl walking along the pavement.

i'll start.. they are a happy joyful group..
they prevent children from being exposed to damaging lies like the existence of Father Christmas and instead teach the wonderful truth that they'll never grow old and live forever
"internet bullying has become a common problem online," notes the wall street journal.
"both young and old are victims and villains, all for the sake of a little anonymous fun.
" sadly, such behavior has led to depression, heart attacks, and even suicide amongst those who suffer ill effects from the aggressive ones they have encountered on the internet.
questions from readers: are the online moderators the lesser or greater fulfillment of Jah and Jesus? Also who foreshadowed who?
