  last night, i went to my parents' house to wash clothes--or so i thought.

  Thank you so much for sharing your story. I'm so sorry for your pain. I've been out of this cult for 13 years, and cannot believe it is still in existence. I think the longer you are out, the more you will realize how crazy this religion is. No matter what your family says, we DO care very much about you.

  BTW - Don't you dare go to that "announcement" tomorrow. Those people are absolutely nuts, and thrive on humiliating anyone who can see over their "power". Try to go out and do something tomorrow night to keep your mind off of things a bit. Hope your family wakes up some day.

  i was told to have a "conversation" with the elders there and they asked me 35.000 questions about something i had done.anyone ever had similar experience or something funny/weird happened?.

  I was born into the religion and left when I was about 21. We had a special needs talk that focused on the "single sisters" in the congregation, which happened to be mainly just me and my roommate (who is still in the cult 13 years later). We were constantly being bothered by the loser men in the congregation. Most were at least twice our age and of course, big losers. One was in his 50's and had 4 kids, and somehow thought a marriage to a 21 year old could work. (Of course he never showed interest in anyone over 30.) Anyways the elder went on to say that instead of complaining about the lack of brothers, start appreciating the single "brothers" we have in the congregation and give them a chance. These single perverts all starting turning around in their seats and grinning at us, as in "are you listening girls". I got up out of my seat and blurted out loud "I'm tired of this shit!", and walked right out the door. I left all of my literature right on the floor and never went back. It was the best decision I ever made!

  i'm not but i know some jws that have drifted but when things like 9/11 catastrophes occur, they're right back at the kingdom hall.. do you ever worry that the great tribulation might occur and you will die?.

  already had doubts from the time i got pubes... but i was about 15 and we were studying the revelation "book" for the upteenth time.

  i realized for every actual bible verse they qouted there was 2-3 paragraphs of conjecture, assumption, faulty logic and just plain stupidity.

  that's when i began to plan my escape.

  i recently started dating this guy, tonight he wants to come over and spend the night with me.

  I was confused by things like this when I left as well. My best advice to you is don't give guys like that the time of day! If he can't take you out, he's looking for sex only and not worth a second more of your time! Show him you have respect for yourself by blowing him off.
