Hey Wannabefree! Is this a joke?
Do you really think that young people that are baptized "exhibit a mature understanding of their faith"????!!!I was there . . . . we born-in's are kept in a deceitful bubble. We do what we are told by our parents, and want to be accepted by the only humans we are allowed to be in contact with, the JDubs.
Also, the door to door 1930's style of preaching work is "personal" because you never end up talking to an actual "householder". It's just you and your JDub buddy gossiping about everyone in the congregation, and then it's off to McDonald's for your "coffee break". This kind of lifesaving work is comparable to that of Bill and Melinda Gates, Warren Buffet, The Red Cross, and every volunteer of Doctors Without Borders, but better.

theres recently an article in a uk newspaper about a small boy whose family are at their wits end.

it seems he will just run amok, create chaos and danger.

hes been permently excluded from school because of hes terrible behaviour.

reverend jesse jackson isn't taking cleveland cavalier's owner dan gilbert's comments about lebron james lightly.

gilbert recently made headlines for writing a scathing open letter to james after the star basketball player signed with the miami heat last week.

Oh Mouthy, please don't tell me they had no shower tents set up for people to clean up!! Were you at least allowed back in the stadium at night to use a real bathroom?
Also . . . did anyone stop to think that maybe an 8 day convention was a bit much for kids? Did they have any special provisions for them? A play area at least for meal time breaks??
I guess I'm still traumatized by the 3-4 day conventions as a kid . . . I cannot believe it was even worse for the kids before me!

Mouthy - your stories are so interesting! It seemed like all the tents were pretty much on top of each other. No privacy I'm sure. Assuming you heard people snoring, kids screaming, and etc . . . How did you all bathe and all that other stuff?! Sounds like pure torture!!!!!

Has anyone heard of the "Brothers' Only Territory"? This would have been an unsafe neighborhood for "sisters" to do preaching work in.

Gosh . . . that looked like a clip from a refugee camp! What the f*** could they talk about for 8 full days???!!! I think that was asking a lot from families, especially those poor kids who didn't have a choice. I always thought assemblies were one of the worst things about being a JDub!
