  but there are those who stay for other reasons.

  even though they know the beliefs and practices are wrong, they cannot bring themselves to pay the price for leaving.

  Great info!

  I have often had some similar thoughts myself after taking some child psychology classes.

  Like you Lucud, my parents were pretty liberal about letting me do things. I was allowed to join dance, plays, and be on a speech team in middle and high school as long as the material was appropriate, and I didn't spend too much time with my "wordly" counter-parts. If my parents got flack from people they just said the speech was an excellent opportunity for me to hone my preaching and theocratic ministry school skills. I feel very lucky that my parents allowed me to do this, I got a chance to see life outside the borg, something my homeschooled friends never got to do.

  i just started reading the book 'the celestine prophecy.

  " i'd like to share a little excerpt with you that is asking us to imagine what the medieval world view" was like and while you read this see if you find it familiar to what we are experiencing as a result of "watchtower's world view".. every place you see the word churchmen", try inserting the word "governing body or "faithful and discrete slave.

  it is very interesting to see that history repeats itself in various ways and also just how behind the times the wt organization really is.

  there's a wts conference in san francisco going on (i'm in oakland) and i haven't heard from my "friend" (i know, i know, i tried to get him out of my system, but its hard) since thurs.

  i called to day and finally he answered, i asked him why he hasen't called and what has he been doing and he said he had "something" to do.

  he dosen't know that i know where he is.

  Usually what this interfaith marriage refers to is if a husband becomes a JW and his wife does not, or vice versa. But if you marry a non-JW you will be kicked out, no question.

  At these conferences as mentioned before, speakers, prayer, and song, but also mass baptisms, naps, candy eating, Biblical based plays, writing notes to your friends, stalking the hot guys in suits around your age....hmm maybe some of these were just me...
