i really need your feedback .

i am really down on the dumps regarding being shunned and torn apart about da (i haven't yet).

a week ago i wrote to dr. phil on oprah and wrote briefly about jw practices on shunning.

If you are concerned about your family then I wouldn't. They may not like it that you air the dirty laundry on national television, tensions between you might be at an all time high and never go away.

This is personal choice you have to make.

To balance this, you have to think about all the people you would be helping, and giving others who were never in the borg a clear picture of how awful they can be. That is really powerful stuff. Of course I would love to see you on television, sharing your painful story, because it echoes so many stories here, and they need to be made public for people to understand. However, that is easy for me to say. I keep my anonimity, and my family isn't offended, or looked down on by those in the congregation.

This is a big choice, and I don't think you should let anyone tell you what to do because you are the one who must deal with the consequences. I wish you the best of luck, and I hope you make the right choice for you...

Ghosts and Spooky things

i did a couple of times at an apt.

startingover-- The high school was Milaca, the houses I am talking about are the spooky old ones around St Cloud State Campus, and the Resturant is DB Sereles.

SixofNine-I totally believe in the power of suggestion. Have you ever watched MTV Fear? The whole thing is a great study is the psychology of fear. It's a bunch of teenagers, they fill them with spooky stories, and then send them out to do stupid shit, like sprinkle chicken blood on the ground and ask a spirit to step forward. Usually you hear them screaming "holy shit, did you hear that" Meanwhile we the TV audience hear nothing. Often times the ones who get the most scared are the religious types. They think they are doing something satanic and wrong and they freak out and quit.

Now this being said, I still believe in spirit forces etc. I dunno, it's probably too deeply rooted, or too much fun for me to scare myself for me to let go. If you re-read my post, I was very skeptical of everything that had happened to me. I can find a logical explination for everything supernatural I have experienced. But it gives me chills, and I still like talking about it, and the what if factor intrigues me.

Plus like I said--it is so much fun to be scared and psyching yourself up (power of suggestion) is the best way to get the best scares and adrenlene pumping.

Another crying question!

do you laugh more often or cry more often?.

joannadandy's question kind of brought out the idea that both crying and laughing seem to bring out a release of emotions.

a really funny joke can make us laugh so hard that we end up crying.

Contrary to my thread I laugh all the damn time. I always have a dumbass smirk on my face, and laugh way to easily about the silliest little things. I also laugh too loud...but whaddyagonna do?

WHAT'S THE WORSE THING YOU DID AT THE MEETING?

i would have to say the worst (aka: funniest) thing i ever did at a meeting was when i sat with the circuit overseer and his wife (many moons ago......) .

anyway, he was really prim and proper and she was of course, a very submissive wife who barely spoke without her husbands permission.

anyway, he goes to the platform and starts off by asking th audience: who was ahab?

Once the visiting brother asked Jehovah to forgive us our falling shorts during the final prayer and lost it. I got an elbow to the ribs

I slapped a chick in the face. (I was 3) My mom made an audio recording of me just talking, where she asked me what we did at meetings, and I said "we do not hit people at the meetings" I figure that must have been recorded after my Zsa Zsa Gabore moment.

When I was four I tripped on my shoes and fell down the stairs at the kingdom hall. BOOM-TUMBLE TUMBLE.

My father was conducting the bookstudy and asked "So what are some identifying features of Jehovahs Peeper (he was supposed to ask people) and I again lost it so bad tears were streaming down my face.

There is a passage in the NT where a leaper falls on his face before Jesus. I leaned over to my dad and said "Ewwe, like he tripped over it?" And he lost it. And quickly rebuffed me by finding a scripture where Jesus is dealing with another leaper and the next line is "so he stretched out his hand"...to which he said "Now that's gross" And I lost it. My mom hated when I sat by my dad.

Other than that I was the perfect little dub...

I have heard tons of stories(mostly from college friends who live in freaky old converted mansions, and a few who work in this resturant that everyone claims is haunted)...but only had a couple of incidents actually happen to me. In high school we always told or got told stories about how the theater was haunted. I mostly thought it was seniors screwing with the freshmen(and I am pretty sure a lot of it was fabricated). But after putting in many hours on the stage in rehersals and performances there were some freaky instances that I was a witness to.

One night we were practicing late and in the middle of our scenes the sound system turned on and started playing classical music. It would turn off, and then fade back on again. We thought someone was at the sound board screwing around and our director got really pissed, however the sound booth was locked, the power was off, and not only that, no tapes or cd's were in the decks. There were of course doors slamming, things being moved, and doors locking on us, (however most of those could be explained as stupid teenager pranks so I don't put a lot of stock in them-but I never could explain the sound system)

Actually I wish I had experienced more. I was dying to get on that show MTV Fear for a while. That kind of stuff facinates me, and of course I always wanted to muck around with a ouja board, but I could never get my witness friends to cave, and now I think I am too old to have a slumber party and whip one out...although if there are an apostates with inquiring minds gimme a call, let's have a slumber party.

Thank you to you too Bona, frankly I think I am just in a funk of late and shall recover soon...damn hormones...lol

I guess I was just frustrated because I felt like crying was letting this person get the upper hand. ANd that this person had no right to make me cry, and then it bothered me even more that I gave a damn what this person says or does to me. Which is stupid, but then again most emotions do seem silly after the fact and at a further inspection.

Anyway thank you all for your posts, and it's good to see there are other cry babies out there...hee hee!

Does power corrupt?

most of the people i knew as witnesses were nice people with genuine motives.. in fact those with obvious personnallity flaws, would not , in my congregation anyway , be made servants or elders.. but i wonder did the postion attained in the org actually change the people who were chosen?.

does the extra respect , power and aurthority over others cause changes in a person makeup they can not help?.

I think it does, and that goes for anything, not just an elder postion. I have known a few who have seemingly turned into overlords once they got their new postion of authority in the congregation. Their families also attained this air as well. I'm not saying all, but there have been a few, and as I said before, anyone is able to be corrupted by power.
