As long as you are doing things you are comfortable with - there is no reason to feel guilty. If you don't feel comfortable with smoking - why do it? If ya like the occasional cig - so be it. Rationalize to yourself why you're feeling this way and eventually you'll be able to work through it.

I HAVE TO MOVE ON...............
by juni ini've met some wonderful friends here at this forum, but it's time for me to put the jw religion to rest.
it will be 15 years this october that i daed myself which in retrospect i wish i wouldn't have done as there are some former sisters who i would love to give a big hug and talk with who are in pain mentally, but i can't.
i agreed to their "rules" when i was baptized.

Sometimes it can be for the best to just move along.
I don't post much on these forums much anymore myself - I wonder if I will ever just decide to completely walk away from the different groups -- I guess I know when I get there.
I think it's perfectly ok to move beyond the need for these types of groups and I wish you well on your new life's adventures.

Bisous - Thanks! I'm glad I posted it here then, I figured I'd toss it out in as many places as possible so I covered all my bases so I didn't get a "Hey you never told me."
Nina - we're both very happy. He's literally been my best friend for the past six years (almost seven!) He's seen me through a lot of life upheavals - was even there when I was first leaving the witnesses. And honestly, I feel like he really does appreciate me, in fact I know he does. We've only officially been dating since Thanksgiving - but like I said the other day to him, technically we were dating for years we just never realized it.
UnConfused - aww shucks - I think they'll get over it. 's anyway to you!
(((Sparky))) - thanks hun! Honestly for the first time, I feel like I do have a bright future ahead of me. It's weird, I always thought I would be nervous about getting married to someone - but I really just feel like I can't wait to just get started on this whole marriage thing.
Bikermama - I'm sorry, I know he should have called. We may have to arrange a trip out to your area just to make sure he meets your stringent standards.
Juni - thanks for the well wishes!
Papa Rabbit - hee hee - thanks for looking out for me, I appreciate it. I'll let him know to be on his best behavior.
Purza - thanks, yeah four days later and I am still always glancing at it...such a nerd.
Es - Thanks - if it isn't obvious yet, I'm loving it too...lol
Dees - lol...yeah nothing that cool, however Riotgirlpeeps (she used to post here some) is an old JW childhood friend who is now able to perform ceremonies, and she will be officiating ours. I think it's hillarious!
Nvr - thank you!
Jgnat - *hugs* Thanks - yeah he is a happy guy - - he's pretty proud of himself with his whole proposal, and I am too.
IP_SEC - So true...I think we are just going to invest in adult diapers now. We're always cracking each other up...good times!

How do you see the world heading if all religion was eliminated?
by Guest with Questions inmany, like dawkins, think that religion is the root of all evil.
hypothetically, if all religion was eliminated and all people stopped believing how would you see the world in a few years?
with atheism on the rise do you think that society will improve or deteriorate?.

joannadandy
There is no way, imo, that all religion will ever be eliminated. Honestly, it's one of the reasons I felt ok in leaving the JW's - their whole prophesy about the big bad UN outlawing all religion and then the end coming I don't see happening in my lifetime.
If people slowly drift away from it and it dies - that's one thing, but I think that would take much longer than any of our lifetimes. I see far too many people who believe whole-heartedly in their religion of choice, and frankly - I don't feel I, or any government, have a right to deny them that belief - even if it is not one I hold myself.
