Ok I'm not the first to say it - but it's really the only response I have - "Holy Crap!"
Yikes!
and "Holy Crap!" again.
Glad you're ok - and no one got hurt.

First my appologies - I was trying to make a reply in a thread and suddenly there was an error and it was gone. So I shall have to start a new one. Coolhandluke said:
i have this thing with nudity. why is it that the female body garners an R rating on a film but violence, torture and the like can get a PG rating. its as if we are being subconsciously told that the female body is disgusting. that it has to be covered. what kinda puritanical, backwater, 18th century kinda thinking is that? i personally like the female body. i like it a lot.
If any of you kids out there have Netflix, I highly recommend: This Film is Not Yet Rated. Brilliant stuff looking at the mystery of how films are rated. Hillariously done and alarming at the same time. The amount of mystery behind the MPAA rating board is just retarded. I don't want to give too much away for those who haven't seen it....but has anyone else gotten a chance to look at it? Basically it's a fancy way for shutting down discussions about important movies/issues. Modifying a directors vision - all under the guise of protecting the innocent, but really just pandering to the big studios. It's censorship - without the overt censoring. Just good old fashioned strong-arm tactics. It's one to make you get all riled up for sure at the huge discrepencies between ratings of movies. Basically it's some small little mystery group thinks of as "offensive" which usually ends up being anything homosexual in nature, anything featuring women's sexuality in a positive way for women -- but Violence seems to be just fine. I guess we live in a society where healthy expressions of love are far more dangerous than acts of extreme aggression?

For those traumatized by being "raised in the truth"...
by changeling inwhat kind of apology would you like to hear from your parents?.
i'll start:.
we are sorry that we were narcissistic wannabe misionaries and that by "putting the kingdom first" we were really putting our personal goals first and never once factored you into the equation.

I kind of feel like Forsharry.
Past is past - and honestly, I've been no basket of sunshine either. I do feel like parents were just doing what they thought to be right, and raising me the best way they knew how.
I do have the luxary of being able to stay in contact with my family tho - so I can certainly understand why those who can't would want appologies/amends to be made.

Locks of Love Donation
by whyamihere inlast night, my kids had appointments to have their hair cut, i wanted them to look decent before school starts.
as i sat there, realizing i needed one myself, a trim to say the least, i went ahead and asked if she had time for my hair.
thankfully she had the time.

It's a good feeling for sure - I've donated twice now myself. Every once and a while I get a wild hair up my bum to chop off all my hair. The first time I did it - the girl told me about the program - since then I've been all about it.
It feels good to give -- and it feels awesome to use less shampoo...lol

She Said It Again...
by saywhat29 inshe said that if i went out in that world and lived "like that" then she would never see me again.
instead, mine are of what is fantasy and what is reality.
reality is becoming more... "real".

An amazing post! You write about your experience so clearly, and with such clear thought - I agree with the poster above who said, "You're going to be just fine."
Your healing is obvious - it's going to hurt, but I think you'll be able to take the hurt. Luckily in this day and age - we get to craft our own families out of the beautiful friends we make. You will get your family one day. I believe that with my whole heart.
Seriously - you have my utmost sympathy and respect.

i also really like "beetlejuice," "the american president," and several others that i admit are cheesy but a great deal of fun.
