".......... but are as angels in heaven"
by Ice Blue inone of the many teachings that troubled my conscience matthew 22:30. does this mean that after armageddon there will essentially be several different classes of people ie survivors (who may marry) and resurrected ones (who may not) and those born after armageddon (presumably who may)?
does this mean the resurrected ones will be sexless - like 'drones'?
surely then they will not be the same person that they were?

WHAT?
No poone-tang?
Nuts to this, I quit...
No I think a real JW response would be something more like: God will tell us how it is when the time is right, it is not up to us to speculate on his purpose (meanwhile they do it all day long).
Yeah I never gave this one much thought ever...but to be of the nookieless class would suck the great pomegrante of doom.

Yes SYN brings out a valid point...sandpaper sucks...just my two cents.
Yet I dig stubble...go figure...oh the hypocrisy of me, tis a beautiful thing...
Not mention has anyone ever pointed out to you how hot they are? How food gets stuck in them...you don't want to discover half a sandwich on your face three days after you thought you ate it--how embarassing...

I was looking for some bad 80's pics to post of me in another thread, and I came across a ton of me and my sister. There is a big age gap between us, she is 12 years older than me. So when I was in kindergarten she was a senior in high school. She lugged my sorry ass all over the place, and baby sat me I don't know how many times. (She also tortured me and beat the crap out of me lots too, let's not get too mushy here)
She moved out when she was 18 (to escape the overbearing JW parents) and I don't blame her now. Back then I was pissed that she moved so far away. We were not close for a long time. Mostly because I was playing with Barbies while she was trying to make rent. We didn't have much to talk about.
Luckily I got to move in with her for 6 months when I was 19. For the first time I felt like I had a sister. It was weird, we grew up so far apart, and yet so much a like. We have the same laugh, we make the same facial expressions and gestures. It was just wild. I am very happy to say we are very close now, despite the 1500 miles between us, we talk to each other all the time on the phone, in e-mails, and letters. Mostly we crab about our Mother, and wonder how our Dad puts up with her. But it feels so good to have a friend like her in my life. She is easily my best friend, my therepist, my grief conselor, and so much more.
So looking at these pics reminded me of how lucky I am to have her, and I just wanted to start a thread for all those sisters out there who are lucky enough to have each other. Cuz sisters rock!!

Ahh yes...look at me...the little propoganda spreader of doom!! DOOM AND ARMEGEDON! How many five year olds could you say no to when they told you you were going to be bird fodder? Yes that is me, circa 86 on my first mission to actually give a presentation by myself. No that's not the actual door I went to, that was my front door, mom made me pose...*dry heaves*
This is me circa 87. Dig those crazy boney legs! And NO COMMENTS ABOUT ORPHAN ANNIE HAIR...I have no idea what my mom was thinking with that haircut...*weeps*

Some perspective on Pope's Toronto visit
by morrisamb intwo very interesting editorials in my london free press today.
i'll bold what yours truly found interesting...obviously the sex abuse scandal is one story that is not going away.
1.to observers not present at the toronto gathering, the most significant development during the pope's visit, arguably, was his admission, during sunday's mass, of "a deep sense of sadness and shame" over sex abuse scandals that have plagued the church for decades.

I hate to break it to you all, but the pope has been dead for a few years now, what you people witness to be his holiness is nothing more than some cheap Disney animitronics.
Play nice with the puppet George...

This still cracks me up. It was the middle of the session because I REFUSED to wait 30 min in line during a song when I am going to miss way more of the talk then if I just go and come back in 5 min.
Anyway-t'was just me and one other lady in the bathroom.
Ladies you can back me up on this, but sometimes long skirts can drop into the bowl, unless you are really good at gathering every inch of fabric up. Well apparantly this sister missed a handful and it fell in because I hear a loud "oh shit! Goddamn it!"
I silently giggled to myself, and when I left found her with five paper towels trying to dry her skirt. (way more than the "Please Take One Towel" sign said, but I let that go" I gave her a large smile and giggled my way all the way back to my seat. I'm pretty sure she didn't know I was in the bathroom otherwise she would have held back on the explatives. Not that I blame her, that would really suck...

JW article in major Canadian newspaper today...
by Pathofthorns ini almost didn't have time to read the morning's paper, but a banner at the top of the front page entitled "cheerleading for jehovah" got my attention.
interesting comments in the toronto star can be read here.
the article has obvious input from the society and seems to be a pr type move in light of recent bad canadian press (calgary blood case) and likely future canadian programs exposing jws and child abuse.. interesting comments:.

According to the organization, those who simply leave the faith are not shunned.
REALLY?? Hmm, maybe the organization needs to have a special talk about this then since by reading a majority of the stories here, the flock doesn't get this message...WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP...
I love how they "socialize with those who think like they do" so they don't "crave" bad things...how can they be testing their faith then if they don't have to fight for it?
AND DAVE MATTHEWS!! THAT SATAN MUSIC!!
Hahaha..ahhh t'was a good laugh to me, and to all those little canada jw's a "good witness" -- whatever
