I don't support it because I don't trust Bush...the government has yet to proven to me it will be nothing more than a slash and burn effort...I want solid proof that if they leave these people without a government they will help them rebuild...I haven't seen that yet...

U.S. War with Iraq
by Crazy151drinker ini just wanted to get some opinions on this matter from everyone.
support here in the states is pretty solid but very weak in europe.

Matty I was a phoney for four years before I finally worked up the courage to leave...or rather slow fade. I can totally realate to how you feel! It will be hard, but you will do it when you are ready. Don't beat yourself up about it...eventually it will get worked out.
My e-mail is open and listed in my profile if you ever want to talk about it more...I won't shun ya either way!

DUDE!
I don't live that far away from you ya know...what is it, 20 min? I would be more than happy to hang out with you anytime!! It sucks to be alone I know, and you are far too much fun to have to spend so much time alone.
Yeah so I am boring as hell, but we can go see a movie or something...or you can let me ride the ponies!! YEA!! Ok, that seems kinda selfish of me...but seriously, you're not alone, you have lots of friends who would like to hang out with ya, and I happen to be one of them...
E-mail me sometime if ya want, and I will give ya my number.

((((((Lyin)))))) You're such a sweetie!
I was trying to explain this place to my sister a few days ago. Words failed me...I do care of all the posters here as well, even the ones I totally disagree with and would like to shake sometimes...lol...I guess that's what sibblings are like. I also value everyone here for their courage and contributions, (yes even the ones I disagree with-how else can we learn from each other) and it's so fun to find so many people to relate with on so many levels. No one understands us the way we understand each other, and it's a beautiful thing to witness on this board daily...

Stupid parent tricks
by LuckyLucy inas a child when i would cry (a big no no in our family).
my dad would say" if you keep crying i will give you a reason to cry".
if we spoke at the dinner table, he would reach across the table (did'nt matter how far away you were..his arm seem to grow) he would thump our heads as hard as he could(leaving a bruise).

Hmm...it still goes on...only my torment has always been psychological. Dub parents are good with that. (I had a friend tell me one time-Gawd, your mother isn't jewish is she? to which I said "worse, she's a jehovahs witness)
Just a few weeks ago my mother brought home prozac. She told me in so many words it was my fault that she had to take it, because of the akward situation I had put her in because I no longer attend meetings. "Well mother dear, you have needed it for a long time, if you need to make me an excuse to take it I willingly be that scapegoat so you get the help you need" I didn't say that, but I should have.

What a jerk...
by joannadandy inok so it always bothered me what a jerk jacob was.
he was a deceptive little cheater, and yet he was favored over his brother?
he used a blatant trick to confuse his obviously blind old father...how is he a biblical hero?.

Hmm....perhaps the whole human theory is correct, in which case songmistress; I have no problem with Sampson...I can relate even...meet me in chat sometime and I will tell you all about the men I let walk all over me, again and again, and again, cuz well, I was in love damnit!...ahh to be young and stupid--sucks to be me.

Is Mutual Respect Possible?
by Sociologist inone of the most striking things about this and similar message boards concerning jehovah's witnesses is the strength of feeling jw-related discussions evoke.
as i dabble in sociology, i was wondering what you all thought about the following questions.
my objective is not to criticize persons belonging to other group but rather to attempt to grasp the dynamics of the conflicts at work here.. the questions:.

joannadandy
Hillary I do know you to be a middle of the road person, and I have always valued your posts as well. I respect and admire everything you have ever written.
However-
rather surprising for someone attempting to convince an audience he is performing a sociological field study.
I don't recall soci asking to do a study. Just that he/she had been looking into it, and with such a background some questions came to mind. Seems innocent enough to me. Perhaps I am naive...no strike that I know I am. I like to believe people are on the up and up, and I see nothing particularly stirring any of those posts that would cause me to believe this person is a troll, as for he/she not responding--perhaps he/she has a life...lol...(sorry but I always find if funny when some doesn't reply right away that it must mean they are just making trouble)
Oh well, just me rambling again...
