  it happened again, another Inactive JW encounter

  so i went out dancing again and as i usually do i like to talk to people at the end, this time i started chatting with a couple of girls.

  while having a conversation with one of them the issue of toasting came up.

  i told her i had no idea how was exactly done, since still i am not that familiar with the whole whishing thing.

  Why hamstring the horses?

  i remember reading the bible accounts of the israelites doing their "spritual warfare" they seemed to always capture the enimes horses and then hamstring them.

  what had the horses ever done to them?

  why not just use the horses themselves?

  I ALWAYS detested this episode of animal cruelty among many other OT accounts of Israelite barbarism.

  The pat response from a JW is 'Jehovah dealt with the situation in a way the people at that time could understand'

  this guy goes to a hall in gastonia nc....i believe the south hall, it has split into four congregations now but back in the day he went to the south.

  his dad was a very respected elder in the hall.

  assemblies; how times have changed

  my wife mentioned our circuit assembly was this weekend, she looked at me and i let out a chuckle and said "the kids are too sick right?

  " (they weren't) but it was what she wanted to hear, an excuse from me to blow it off.

  it got us thinking about how they were kind of tolerable when we were younger.. meals with ice cream, lots of volunteering to get you out of your seat.. there was more room at past assemblies.

  At the large assemblies like Twickenham or Wembley I recall many years ago hospitalised JW's being brought to the stadium on stretcher trolleys complete with medical professional so as not to miss a resolution or special talk being given by a GB big wig.

  Aaaaah those were the days....

  My Labrador died can anyone please help me. I can't stand the pain.

  my wife recovered from depression just 14 months ago and things have been going well.....so much so that i started a buisness for her and we are two weeks into it.

  my labby was ill vomiting abit of discomfort, i thought great, you ate something bad again!

  the vet gave him a shot and sent us home.

  It is so painful to lose the companionship of a faithful dog.

  The initial pain feels unbearable but time will eventually help.

  My dog is buried in the garden & it is a comfort having her there.
