  ELDERS STEPPING DOWN

  between two congregations that i know of four elders have stepped down in the last two months!

  there is something really going on in this mandmade organization!

  it's busting at the seams!.

  Blondie - I was an elder. I stepped down and wrote a letter stating that I longer wished to serve. I cited my young family and that I could not in good conscience do both. The elders met with me 3 times. They didn't want to let me. I told them that if they didn't allow me to step aside and focus on my family that they would end up removing me because I would not be doing the job they wanted me to do. I said that maybe one day when my family was grown, that I would be able to do it again. Finally, they agreed and let me step aside. 4 months later I learned TTATT and then left 2 months after that.

  That was 5 years ago...so maybe it has changed

  Apostate: From 279 Facebook friends to 81 overnight... thanks MOM!

  the drama continues, i log on to facebook this morning and notice that i have about 20 some odd personal messages from people calling me an apostate to they will return to me when i return to jehovah.. all of this based upon my brother informing others that i have "apostate thoughts".

  my mother also encourage long-time famil friends to "unfriend" me because i have taken my stand on the side of satan... wow.

  don't you just love this international brotherhood.

  Anyone else an Ex Bethel "volunteer"

  i was wondering if there were any other ex-bethelites on here.

  i personally regularly went for temporary work at brooklyn then was assigned to the farm for a year and a half.

  it was... one of the most bizaare experiences of my life.. so i wrote it all down (finally, after some 15 years) so i won't bore anyone on here with the details of the story - because bethel doesn't show up until chapter 15... and for you straight folks, it gets a bit gay in two places... but nothing gross.

  I'm on there everyday too...several times a day. I check it often when I post and people comment...maybe I shouldn't say anything on it and I wouldn't feel the need to check it all the time. LOL

  Do Witnesses Ever Talk About Their Living Forever And Never Dying?

  my 86 year old mother stopped believing she was going into paradise earth without dying first, about 10 years ago.

  my aunt used to think she was going to make it through the great tribulation.

  even a week before she died, she clung on to this fairy tale.. do you think jws believe they will never die at all and will, in their lifetime, be on a paradise earth to live forever?.

  oh....it's not false prophecy....it's now there is a better understanding. The people are still in God's memory and so they never died...really? That's what my dad tried to tell me the last time I talked to him and brought it up.

  Except .... that is the only bit of info that 'their people' wanted to know. Yeah, 6 and 7 yrs olds were killed. So were teachers and staff and that is horrible...but more importantly were any of them witnesses? As if that makes it easier for the JWs to swallow.

  I remember any time there was a disaster...the only question I would hear is "were any of them witnesses?" What religious beliefs the victims held is the LAST thing that anyone else cares about! They are people and that's all that matters....but that's not the way a JW thinks.

  New Baptism Requirement?

  i would appreciate answers on this from elders or former elders .. speaking to a young unbaptized witness, he said that he'd like to get baptized asap, but he would have to achieve a return visit or two on his report before that could happen.. when i asked him what made him think that, he said that that was what the elders had told his sister to do, before she could get baptized.

  is this standard practice by elders?.

  haven't they read acts 2:38 to find out what qualifies a person for baptism?

  They are interpreting having 'an active share in the field ministry'...the way they see fit. Yep, just a bunch of guys inforcing the rules the way they want.

  As Cofty said, they are doing people a favor. Some want to see placements...if someone reports 8 hrs every month but no placements or RVs then many elders will say...that's NOT having an active share....just typical BS.

  Going beyond things written in the Bible is their MO. They are going by what is written in the Watchtowers, OD or Flock books. Big difference, huh?
