If you ever have a chance, check out the documentary forks over knives. It pushed myself and my wife towards vegetarianism. We're still have a little way to go until we are there, but we are convinced it is the right way to eat.

i've been considering it for awhile strictly for just general overall health.
i don't take any meds, and would like to keep it that way for as long as i can.
i am a "all things in moderation " type of person but the more i read about excluding dairy and meat, the more i think about doing it.

I am stuck in a movement
Working on getting unstuck though. When I am out I will rejoin the board as unstuck
many people will scoff at the thought that the org will collapse.
i agree that it will never collapse but the crumbling has begun.
think about the following.....they have a serious lack of potential future leaders.
Bump in light of the new reduced printing announcement
lets's go!!.

Yes I was assigned one for several months right before the 2011 Km school, and then had to return it after I resigned. Thanks to the wonderful internet I now have an electronic copy.

apostates undercover elders (i know there are some professed elders on here) have you ever handled a jc envoling a publisher viewing sites like jwn or others and who question the gb etc.. and if not what if you were assigned a jc involving apostacy?.
i would think this would be almost, if not an impossible situation.. kensho.
I always used the term public piñata for serving as an elder. You are held up high by the branch with a figurative rope around your neck, while someone beats the crap out of you just to see what shakes out.

an uncle of mine is a lifer at the brooklyn bethel and he was recently sent to india for open heart surgery.
it's so much cheaper compared to getting the procedure done in the us it's ridiculous.
does anybody know if it's the society that pays for all this or if it's up to each bethelite's own health insurance?
The branch cut a deal with an Indian healthcare company. I had heard that heart surgeries in india cost 10% of what they cost here in the states. They are paying directly for the procedure. I remember talking to the bro who set the system up a couple of years ago.

the watchtowers unholy trinity .
most jehovahs witnesses believe that when the society appears to clearly designate a new doctrinal position on some issue, like blood transfusions, it is what they really follow and believe.
such naivete is typical of those who have never worked in a large corporation.. .
Randy, I read Zen's account about the phone call to the service dept and am confused. (probably not enough blood in my brain)
Am I correct in understanding that the society will no longer disfellowship a person for taking blood, or declare that a person has automatically disassociated themselves for taking blood? It is now a don't ask, don't tell policy? If this is true, how much liability will they have for changing the stance but not informing the congregations/ publishers? There are many people who will continue to refuse blood for fear of being dfed that will die unneccesarily.
How could they be that stupid to quietly change it without informing the congregations? Something doesn't add up. (or maybe they are that stupid)

january 8, 1947 awake!:.
excommunication is "altogether foreign to biblical teachings.".
it's an unbiblical roman catholic teaching by which "you are looked upon with the blackest contempt... being cursed and damned with the devil and his angels.".
This is a big deal. I had some success in sharing this article with a loved one. They were stunned to see that the Society once condemned a practice that they now strongly promote. The WTS is truly condemned with their own words.
What is comical about it is, the 1947 article says that the scriptures commonly used to justify excommunication such as Matt. 18:15-19; 1 Cor. 5:3-5, 16:22 really can't be used to support the practice. Today those scripitures are the "biblical" basis for the practice of disfellowshipping. Bottom line is these clowns will twist the scriptures to support whatever the hell they want. It is all interpretation.
If you are active and fading, or are DF'ed please share the article with any you speak with. It will plant a seed.
