Does anyone know how "new light" comes to fruition?
by mamalove ini am curious if anyone knows the process by which new light, or revisions in beliefs actually are agreed on for presentation to the followers?.
does one member of the gb bring up something and they all talk about it and decide?
or do they get a bunch of questions in the mail and decide to re-evaluate something based on the fan mail?

KM (Elder School) Brief Highlights

Heck, I will add a couple of thoughts...
The second to last talk on Saturday is..."trust in the faithful and discreet slave" The speaker really emphasized how there is a problem with some elders who do not trust or obey the GB as the representative of God on earth. It was 1/2 hr of "following the the GB and their direction is the only way we will get from here to paradise." True quote.
The education talk was unenlightening. There are 10 questions that elders were asked to write down to review an appointed man's qualifications. If your kid goes to college there is a likelihood that you will be removed. It is crazy how anti education they are now.
Apparently there have been a number of kids that have received transfusions. It was interesting that the handout that was provided had specific instructions not to allow the information to be reproduced. The elders were told expect a court order in a parent declining a transfusion. The elders were also coached in this talk on what to say and what not to say to a judge.
Anyones else have some morsels from this great spiritual banquet?

New Beginnings!!!!
by JWFreak inwell things have changed big time for me.
on the 3rd of dec. finally, i have left my work at bethel and moved almost 500 kilometres away to a new life.. some of you were aware of my work in a european branch, and have kept my confidence.
for this i am eternally grateful...you know who you are.. the huge weight that has been taken off my shoulders is both a comfort and a relief.. when i settle into my new home properly, i intend to write some memoirs of life at the branch, hoping that others will find it of interest.. for now my future is for the first time uncertain and that makes it very very exciting, but i am no longer under the control of others yay!!.

It is powerful to look at the picture in the proclaimers book of the 12 GB members and see that all of them have died. Many of us were taught that the anointed would still be alive when the big A came. The GB in the 70's -early 90's were a representative group of those that professed to be anointed. Most were around before the "other sheep" were identified. It was easy for the rank and file to believe, because these guys were old and had been around since Rutherford.
In my perspective, the new bunch of boys are even greater impostors than their predecessors. They are fairly young, unintelligent or unimaginative, and holding on to the eroding foundations of doctrines that were built 50-100 years ago. Everyone who is their age or younger who is a witness has been conditioned to think that they are unworthy of the heavenly calling. It makes it tough for the rank and file to accept these younger GB members who are the same as us. The moving target of 1935 was a tacit admission that the FDS was wrong, the effect of this teaching was that for 70 + years they closed the door to heaven for 99% of JWS.
They are stuck because as time drags on it becomes even more clear that 144,000 is not a literal number. They are going to have to make a doctrinal move which will further weaken their "chosen" position as more people begin to partake. Of course these clowns in Brooklyn feel that the people that do partake are not real anointed which will make it tough for them to appoint replacements to the GB. It is a clusterf#$%.
The wheels are falling off the bus.

it's elders or servants cannot resign a position of responsibility for personal reasons, or without an interrogation by other elders and then permission by headquarters.

There is new direction to the BOE's at KM school. If an appointed man has a kid in a university his qualifications must be reviewed using 10 very specific questions that elders were required to write down verbatim. The direction was given that it is "likely" he would not qualify anymore.
It is accurate.

If you are an elder you can get a blank check to commit serious wrongdoing ...if you hide it for 4 or more years. Others who are not elders do not receive this courtesy. If you are not an elder you may be disfellowshipped and lose your family and friends.
Questions to the Governing body/ channel of God are not permitted. If questioned the questioner will be marked or punished by disfellowshipping.
Teachings claimed to be inspired by God change regularly. Each time it changes, Holy Spirit is credited. If you continue to believe something other than what is the new "understanding” you can be disfellowshipped.
There is a secret manual that gives the Elders instructions and policies that the publishers aren't permitted to know about.
Headquarters is aware of accused/convicted child molesters, but refuses to inform the congregations that the accused/convicted are in.
Child molesters are required to go door to door in their neighborhoods.
Direction claimed received from God, each time without a doubt, that the end of all things is going to come in 1914, 1925, 1975, “Before the end of the 20 th century.”........and it not once happens.
If your child goes to college or a trade school, you cannot continue to serve as a ministerial servant or elder.

Wife & I were Without Electricity for 6 Days - Empathize with 3rd World......
by flipper ina massive storm from alaska knocked the hell out of northern california , giving us a foot and a half of snow , snapping trees like matchsticks , crashing multiple electrical lines in the sierra mountains where we live.
knocking electric out for 6 days ( thus my dissapearing act from jwn for 6 days ) - we had a 90 ft. ponderosa pine tree ( 3ft, around ) crash on the lower end of our acre we live on .
it's still leaning on oak trees suspended in time.

Man that is a long time! I am glad you and your wife are weathering the storm. It's funny, the first night without power is romantic, light candles open up a bottle of wine, snuggle by the fire. The second night you eat canned chili that has been warmed up on the wood stove and drink beer that has been stored in the snow. Not as much snuggling happens.

According to last weeks Leader Watchtower study to paraphrase...
What truly sets Jehovah's Witnesses apart from other religions is that they do not follow any human leader but instead follow the Christ. However, to follow the Christ and attain salvation you must follow and obey the leadership of 8 humans known as the Governing Body.

Thank goodness Jehovah's Witnesses do not follow any human leader now. Instead they have 7 old white guys and a brother who are self appointed. Holy spirit in action indeed.
It infuriated me when they claimed that Jesus is actively managing the 100,000 + congregations today. I tend to think that if Jesus was really involved in the management of the congregations they would be teaching what is right, and not hiding pedophiles.

It burns me that the bethelites, C/O's, D/O's and Governing Body don't have to work for a living, don't have any real financial or material cares in the world and they are the ones telling the flock to don't be overly anxious about material things. Simplify and spend more time in the pointless ministry.
They don't have kids to support, or have to worry about retirement, or have to find a way to pay for medical care. Out of touch bozos. It makes me mad that these clowns are the ones pretending to speak for Jesus. Ass%@#!
