i've been watching the new dvd and it is a bull fest about russell.

i haven't even gotten half way and they already excluded one very important bit of information.

you'll recall that russell "lost" his faith and "turning away from church creeds and searching for truth, russell examined some leading oriental religions, only to find these unsatisfying".

The new song book

i know it's has been mentioned before but my 2$ worth.iam sure if they (j.w.

) had listen to the music and song without knowing who published the new song book.they would say "this song book is awful with no end of criticism.

"also over 90% would agree and would not bat and eye.. knowing that the wbts published this (garbage) song book over 90% agree what a great song book.talk of brainwashed people.i can't stand the music, it sounds like some kindergarden kid is taking piano lessons.did they not rehearse.it is awful the the dough heads won't admit it.i say they will do a re-issue,revision 2 next year.. bob.

I went to the KH this past sunday to see a friend and i hadn't been in over a year. I was suprised when the talk ended and my elated mother handed me the new song book. As the music started and the singing began, i kid you not i felt like something was tryin to burst out of my chest! my heart sped up and i was fighting back small convulsions in my arms.The music was errie. I immediatly left and instantly felt better when i stepped outside. i know the general consensus is its a cult and jus reading those new lyrics changes with focus on the GB damn near confirms it for me!!!! I will NOT be back in any hall for a looooong time while i investigate this. Im grabbing a copy of the new book from my mom tonight to compare with the old to confirm my suspicions.

im new but am completly thrilled to find a site like this discussing things i've personally contemplated for years.

in my research and through posts here its come to my attention that the meetings (watchtower study in particular) are designed to hypnotize you(reference charcot) thorough, among other means, soothing song.

they say it relaxes the mind a prepares it for the process.

The only thing that helped me leave was my wife, who ironically is still a sister because if/when shes DF she cant handle losing all of her family. They are mostly elders and MS. It still instilled a fear in us that we are slowly but surley shaking off and learning that they were tactics not teachings.

First of all Hello!!! Im new but am completly thrilled to find a site like this discussing things i've personally contemplated for years. In my research and through posts here its come to my attention that the meetings (Watchtower study in particular) are designed to hypnotize you(Reference Charcot) thorough, among other means, soothing song. They say it relaxes the mind a prepares it for the process. Its also said that a "hyperactive mind" wouldn't be as suceptable. I myself have ADHD which makes it more difficult for me to remain focused for long periods of times (i always fell asleep too, cant tell you how many times my mom smacked me awake lol). Perhaps that why the meetings never really set in for me and i didnt get swept up in the raptur of the "Thruth". Out of curiosity has anyone noticed a high number of add/adhd diagnosed ex-jw's? Feel free to expand on this notion.

surprised me that he actually followed up on his word and called .

it will be strange after four yrs.

to have them in our house .my husband was not happy to hear it will be two brothers coming over, because he really does not want to feel we are being counseled .

Ive been following this post and im extremly proud of you!!!! My wife is still a sister and had been avoiding the brothers because she afraid of losing her family (alllll are J-Dubbs). Im going to use you story as an example of how to handle it.
