A litle bit of history about you so we now who we're voting for (without having to read your manuscript first) would be nice.
Some of us are very wary about clicking on links.
my book, the end is nigh...again (but this time we really mean it) is now finished and available to read.
its a tongue in cheek, real life saga about the life of a second generation jehovahs witness that pokes fun at the organisation that to this day continues to completely screw up the lives of many decent people.
i have uploaded the entire manuscript to a site called slush pile reader.

some of you know i have struggled with this for awhile.
i really do believe in marriage and the committment, however, sometimes enough is enough.. his endless preaching at me and calling me and my (adult) children satan has me realizing that this situation is not going to get better.
the other day he kicked my son out of the house for wearing a cap, in his car, with a skull on it.
A normal person can join this cult and end up stark raving bonkers because of the high alert they are kept on.
They are in a state of pure panic 24/7....something has to give, unfortunately in quite a few cases it seems to be their mind.
This is the face of every JW I used to know
Sorry it's cost you your marriage, but at least you can have some peace.
no not jws but lads aged about 10 years old.. they asked me if i wanted to buy an apple for 1.00.. coversation went as follows;.
me: are you trying to raise money?.
lads: yeah for charity.
I just hope they remember me when they are millionairs.

No not JWs but lads aged about 10 years old.
They asked me if I wanted to buy an apple for £1.00. I said no thank cos I can buy them cheaper at the supermarket.
Coversation went as follows;
Me: Are you trying to raise money?
Lads: Yeah for charity
Me: whose charity, yours?
Lads: (shuffling feet, looking at floor) yeeaah.
Gave them £1.00 each for their cheek. LMAO
google_ad_section_start back ground: been da'd for 17 years, bio mother and step father uber jw's, step father elder.
since da'ing my mother has always sorta kept in contact with me...until recently.. three years ago i started dating a guy, my bio father and step mother did not approve of.
my mother loved it, she fed off it.
I can only put the depression i felt and the sadness down to a form of mourning over my mother
I think your right on the button there. Just soak up the love you receive from the rest of your family, let them heal you.
I know it must be very, very hard to accept your mothers treatment, but she is behaving like this because there seems to be a lot of tightening up on how to treat inactive or da'd ones. She thinks she is doing it out of love... so sorry for you.
((((hugs))))
for they, alone, have apparently been able to do for some what no other religion, teaching, philosophy, belief, or faith, was able to do: turn some completely away from the most holy one of israel, jah of armies.
may you all have peace.... of course, such ones may want to attribute their "change of heart" to something they call "atheism", but that really isn't the truth.
atheism didn't call them; atheism was simply the final "oasis" to which they fled when the wtbts proved itself to be a "waterless region"... a wasteland... desolate.
Diamondiiz - Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, it's just sometimes that opinion can seem like an attack.
Shelby is more than capable of defending herself and will do so in love and compassion, something a person with mental illness will find difficult to do.
She is loved and respected on here by many including me.
I truly hope and pray that you will find answers that bring you peace.
i love reading the various pet names people have come up with for jws.
some i have seen on this board include:.
jws (obviously).
Jo ho hos (christmas only)
she was 88. not a jw...so i guess she's in heaven?.
Love and ((((hugs)))) to you and your dad.
why do people become jehovah's witnesses?.
I think for the most part, they take advantage of people when they are at their lowest.
I was suffering from post-natal depression and was so scared for my children and their future. So one day, in the depths of despair, I prayed to God and asked him to help me and show me why everything was in such a mess. Low and behold two witnesses came knocking and then took 27 years of my and my families life.
As some have said, they seem to have the truth and when you question it you are told to wait on Jehovah. When you have doubts you feel, or are made to feel like it's you that has a problem with your faith, that you're weak.
My husband started to have a bible study just to try and disprove what they were teaching. Unfortunately he had no prior bible knowledge and they soon reeled him in. He looks back and can't believe what he did, but he's recovering his self esteem and starting to enjoy life again.
We still have a faith but not in any man made organisation. We're gonna have a party the day we're d'fed. And your all invited.
dear editor:.
the letter below is somewhat longer than most you run in your newspaper, i know.
i hope you will run it however, as painting the picture of cults and their insidious control is not something that can be done in a few words.
Hopefully it will cause a JW or two to have a light bulb moment. Fingers crossed.
