where does it mention he's a JW?
Same question here.....I re-read the article and no mention of JWs. I assume someone here knows the family?

Another JW in the news
by TweetieBird inhttp://www.news-journalonline.com/breakingnews/2010/06/man-follows-wife-with-tracking-device-slashes-new-boyfriend.html.
i know this guy and he is one of the meekest, mildest guys i ever knew.
he just stepped down as an elder recently to work on his family life.

Anyone remember this former C.O.: Kevin Wright?
by Olin Moyles Ghost induring the early 2000s, kevin wright was the c.o.
for a circuit that included several of my friends.
i remember hearing my friends complain about what a tool this guy was--and these complainers weren't just "lowly" publishers--some of them were elders and pioneers.

The reporting of field service time
by lepermessiah inwere any of you really bothered/still bothered by the practice of field service reporting?.
there was an old post on here that got me thinking how the practice got started.. instead of simply being a tool to monitor the progress of the faith, or to see if the work was done "throughout the earth", it appears to me that it was just a tool used to keep the presses rolling and to see how much literature to produce - along with controlling the rank and file.
the average jw gives it no thought, its just another "blessing" from the organization when you hear the monthly reports, etc.. the organization is so statistics-driven that they make jesus out to be a ceo with people who need to meet their sales quotas.i'm sure he really wouldnt care if peter and andrew got 20 hours one month and john got 25. wait, maybe thats why john was "beloved" .

I see no need for it. You know there are publishers out there who will "fudge" their time to at least make the so called average hours.

Do "Thousands of JWs die each year" because they refuse blood? I say YES!
by AndersonsInfo inhttp://www.freeminds.org/blogs/musings-of-a-watchtower-insider/thousands-die-each-year.htm l. this blog article is solely my personal opinion, but i have tried to present important material for your consideration because i believe that one life lost to this blood-ban is one too many and there have too many deaths since 1945 and it's time something is done about it.
however you think on the subject, just wait until you read the conclusion of my blog article.
oh, by the way, all points of view are important to me and most welcome so i look forward to reading them here on jwn .

Attention all Jehovah’s Witnesses. I just heard from a very reliable source that a brother in the Writing Dept say’s there will be new light on the blood issue published this summer. He hinted around to the fact that it will now be a conscience matter.
Is that above statement is correct I will hit the roof!

Thank you ALL for being kind. I was hesitant to post since I am an active JW and most here used to be. I think from my viewpoint witnessing alot of crap through the years that I see the WTS does "not walk on water" but are VERY human. That revelation alone has helped me and not to put all my stock in men, GB, DO, CO and elders. I do not consider myself old at 40 (gasp) but I have always been a curious one growing up. The WTS wants you to believe all that is written which is fine IF you did that at the beginning. Being raised a JW you take for granted and never question except when things directly effect you, such as college. You are right not a huge thing but for me it was. My dad would have been removed if I went to college in the 80's then all of a sudden the WTS loosens their thinking on higher education. I was crushed and thought how can they do that, change one line of thought and with in a few years starts back peddling. BTW, for the record they are starting to clamp down on the higher education yet again. This was the beginning of a few things I do not agree with.

A little about me. I was raised as a JW, daughter of an elder and wife of an elder. Can you say being in a "fishbowl" all your life make sense?
I am VERY hesitant since as you all know the ramifications if I were to be "outed". I am not here to cause trouble but have been a lurker for a few years. My husband is very loving and not the typical "professional elder" he is one of the few who is humble but unfortunately he is not questioning some of the teachings and how things are handle in the organization. I have not approached him about my reading on the net from other ex-JWs but he knows I have some doubts on the organization. I love him for not trying to tell me what to say and what not to say.
I am on a journey to who knows where and will read other's thoughts/stories. I will respect all and I hope you will respect my situation.
