All the time. I have mixed emotions since if one is not completely "out" yet they may have a guilty conscience and if I was known they would out me.

Change in meeting attendance procedure - can't figure out why though
by sir82 inper a recent letter to elders:.
beginning september 1, there will be a change to the way attendance is recorded at congregation meetings.. currently, attendance is counted at 4 of the 5 meeting (public talk, wt study, congregation "bible" study, and service meeting).. but after sept. 1, meeting attendance will only be taken at 2 of the meetings - during the "first quarter" of the wt study, and also at the cbs.. .
no reason in given for the change in the letter, and i can't figure out why myself.. the numbers are not published anywhere - the only "official" record is a 6 month average the co puts together during his visit.. why request less information from the congregations, especially when it "costs" nothing to accumulate it in the first place?

I personally think they are simplifying and they probably have an adgenda but only time will tell. I would ask my husband but that would be a dead giveaway for me to question a letter that has not been announced. lol

As a Man have your Attitudes Towards Women Changed since Exiting JW's ?
by flipper inbeing raised in the jehovah's witness cult - i saw so many times what would be referred to as " supportive wives " wait after meetings for an hour, two hours, even more until midnight for husbands who met in backrooms meeting to decide on judicial matters if some individual witness was righteous - or not.
wives of elders were expected to do this to show submission and alleged " respect " for the headship arrangement or eldership of their husbands !
incredible.

As a child of an elder and now a wife of about 15 yrs I have to say both my husband and father treated me and my Mom with great respect. I speak my mind and I know the elder body probably cringes but I am a human being too. LOL I refuse to stay for an elder's meeting if it goes over 15-20 min. I have a life and a job so they are all aware to make sure we know ahead of time and take 2 vehicles or make it snappy.
I have seen some Men dump on their wives and if I am a good friend I have spoke my mind to their husbands.

Circuit Overseers, their roles, and their spouses
by garyneal inmy wife and i took a trip yesterday to deliver her camera to her mom so she may take it with her as she goes to kentucky where the need is greattm.
her mom is currently still in virginia staying with some brothers there while she gets schooled in giving talks (at least i think that is what she is doing).
i met the co's wife at the petersburg kh and after we dropped the camera off, my wife and i went to have dinner before returning home.. i ask about circuit overseers and their role because i was intrigued to learn that the kh we went to had an apartment for the co.. apparently, co's have no job of their own outside the watchtower activities and while my wife insisted that they did not 'take a vow of poverty' like the catholic clergy do, they technically do.

There was one CO couple that ate only raw veggies and fruits, nothing cooked. That was fun NOT!

Just talked to a brother in the service department and he hung up on me!
by life is to short inok so last sunday was my last meeting.
i have been in contact with the service department over this problem with the child molesters in my hall, i have written many, many letters begging for help, i have gotten nothing for help from them, but to wait on jehovah and pray more study more, etc.
so i want them to know that they they win they have weeded me out from the "truth" i am a bad seed from satan as i cannot abide by how we handle child molesters.

To add my thoughts on the original poster.
I feel it is an OBLIGATION of ANY person/human being to report child molestation to the police. If I ever got wind of a molester in the KH I would let everyone know. I would probably get into some hot water but it would be worth it to save a child. I could never live with myself knowing someone so dangerous was associating in the congregation.

Questions for BANE, SCHOLAR, and All Jehovah's Witnesses!
by UnDisfellowshipped inyou don't have to answer all of them at once.
i would be happy to see your answers to any of these questions.. remember, the inspired apostle peter gave this direction in the holy scriptures: "always [be] ready to make a defense before everyone that demands of you a reason for the hope in you, but doing so together with a mild temper and deep respect.
" (1st peter 3:15).

CO's are burden to cong
1. apt
2. car & insurance
3. health insurance
4. weekly re-inbursement receipts: gas, drycleaning, groceries, supplies, etc..........
Yes they can be. One "tour" of a CO he was trying to be reimbursed for a $75 dinner. He decided to take his wife out on a date(s) and was notorious for passing the bill on to the ocngregation he was serving that week. I vocally questioned it and from what I heard he was talked to and was asked never to submit that again. MOST are frugal (at least the ones I see coming/going) but the younger ones feel entitled and IMO THEY chose to do this work and giving up the nice things is part of the deal.
That same CO who took his wife out and expensed it....his wife was always dressed to the nines, nail professionally done etc. She would show up like she was a high priced lawyer. I laughed and did not care, I wear and enjoy nice clothes too. It was humorous to see someone who is supposed to be simplifying their life look better than most.

They do take a vow of poverty since they do not have a regular paying job. Some have families and when their kids go off, the couple enters the circuit work. Most are given an apartment in the kingdom hall where they pay nothing. It used to be for years a pioneer couple or one spouse who was pioneering would rent the apartments. That all changed about 7-10 years ago they WTS did away with that and asked all who were not CO's/DO's to leave and find other housing. I heard it had to do with liability and plus the congregation was receiving rent, minimal but none the less they were making a little $ and that could lead to potential problems being a non-profit.
