while many of us left wt and have gone on to college and gotten jobs where we are able to provide these things for ourselves and our famiies poor jw are sitting around waiting to cash in thier new system coupon in order to get these things.
In the end, isn't it simply mental laziness to expect someone else to solve your problems. Being so lazy that you will allow other people to decide all the major facets of your life. Who you can marry or befriend, what your occupation and avocations should be.
Its a high price to pay for not taking personal responsibility for one's life decisions and actions.

I think making people laugh is a wonderful gift.
My times making people laugh are among my best memories. I love to laugh, loud and long and clear. I love to laugh, ha ha ha ha, it's getting worse every year.

keep in mind, now, i haven't been out in field service since sometime in early 1987.. this morning i headed off out the door and down the stairs, cheerful and ready to tackle the day.
got to my ride, and realized i had forgotten to pick up the case that contains my laptop and paperwork.
so, back up the stairs, in the door.
I loved my bookbag. I named it Billy. Billy the Book bag.
It has a latch that would come loose easily so i could just kind of jostle it up and down and it would come open allowing me easy access to Bible and other witness paraphenalia.
The kids loved it.
At meetings I would make it talk in a Charlie McCarthyesque fashion. Hey, after 2 hours of dull, I could get quite an audience.

but once the 'friends' realized that the website i was promoting with my flyers and moving car billboard was not an approved wt site, the powers that be got ... well ... pissed is the word!.
nobody bothered me on friday as i went smiling about my posting flyers on the light and utility poles on the routes to/from the convention site.
Seems like outnfree's experience would be of interest to the Dateline people.

the wt june 1, 2001 issue contains the article "if god is for us who will be against us?".
in this article the wt talks about identifying the marks of those having god's backing.
in paragraph 6 it quotes jesus words found in mathew 7:15,16 where he says that "be on the watch for false prophets that come to you in sheep's covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves.
“If I give all my belongings to feed others, and if I hand over my body, that I may boast, but do not have love, I am not profited at all.” I continue to find this to be true not only of fundamental Jehovah's Witnesses but others who seek to form a sect centered around certain laws or beliefs rather than faith in Christ's love.
I appreciate the time the posters like Defender put into these type of posts. I am learning some new things and beginning to understand more and more the frustration I have had with understanding Christian principles.

i've spent a good part of the afternoon reading about the judicial committee meeting at www.disfellowshipped.com.. i am more determined than ever to reread the new testament and meditate on it anew.. could faith in christ be that simple?

what made me the most ill at the district convention.
the public talk had to be it.
although the drama was a close second.
Be careful what you wish for.
Thousands of witnesses upon having to face the truth about their faith could commit suicide. Old devastated ones like my parents would probably die of a broken heart.
I for one hope for slow disintegration mainly through attrition, ie, less people joining, vs shock therapy on people who have invested their whole emotional bank account in these men.
