  Dinner with College Professor

  i went to the circuit assembly last weekend.

  we went up friday, so we could have some time to chill before the assembly saturday and sunday.

  our "christian convoy" happened to include a very nice family that is new to our congregation.

  Service Meeting Week Starting January 2, 2006

  song 5. note: congregations are not to move their service meeting for the week of january 2 to an earlier night unless the circuit overseer is visiting.

  in every congregation, the convention insert should be considered on the service meeting as scheduled.

  if there is a circuit assembly this week, book study overseers should announce the convention location and dates at their regularly scheduled book studies.

  we sit here and bash the wbts for having gender separation, but what about us apostates?

  for me there is such a personal reward in just being as good a person as i can be.

  good meaning being nice and kind and giving.. i am striving to find a very peaceful place for my mind to exist.

  How stressed were you as a JW?

  i don't know about you guys, but it stressed me alot to be a jw.. i never did like talking in public, in front of a group, or going door to door.. gee, i hated the tms meeting.

  the moment i knew that i had a talk, i became nervous and often i had a hard time sleeping.

  just knowing that i had to talk for 5 minutes in front of the whole congrgation got me nervous weeks ahead of time.

  i didnt mind reading, i frequently read the watchtower paragraphs on sunday, do they still do that?

  i did not like giving the prayer. it totally freaked me out.

  i did not like going door to door, it almost totally freaked me out.

  there was stress associated with being teased at school.

  most of the stress came from my parents who put a lot of pressure on me to perform spiritually.

  obviously, there is no answer to this, i just think it's an interesting ??.

  my personal opinion is that within 10 years, the wts will be a shell of it's current (and especially former) self.

  it may not even take that long.

  you should build self confidence.

  a self confident person is not afraid to give of themselves to others.

  giving to others is what makes one good.
