I cannot believe my father called me to ask this!

so my father, a jw bum who abandoned us when we were children to be with his pioneer whore, called me tonight and left a message.

this is surprising because i have not seen or spoken to him for a couple of years, other than to leave a message a couple of weeks ago to tell him that i had to hospitalize my sister for being suicidal.. i found out about a week ago that one of his very good friends, a brother whose family used to go to the hall with us and used to be close to when we were children is dying in the hospital after having a couple of strokes and a heart attack.

they've been talking about taking him off of the ventilator for a few days.

Does anyone else have parents who were only JWs until you became an adult?

my parents joined when i was born and left when i became an adult.

they're very controlling people.

i recommend the book 'if you had controlling parents' because i think people raised as jws will relate to it.

saw a watchtower in public area today...

was weird.

used to look at it as something positive.

this time i actually covered it with other reading material, with the thought that i'd be helping people to stay away from it.

Can't believe people who were JWs with me as children are still in the religon.

so through the internet it's possible to see what people are doing from childhood without actually interacting.

i really imagined the majority people i knew who were born into the religon about the same time i was would have left when they matured and hopefully developed some logic???.

so do they really believe everything they were taught as children or are they just stuck and don't know how to leave?

i see people saying this online.

my parents made us tell people tha we got gifts throughout the year and that we probably got more presents than kids get on birthdays and christmas.

however, it was a complete lie.

according to 2tricities.com, a "group of jehovah's witnesses saved 4 month old beulah from a watery grave" in old fort, w.virginia.. 17 year old autumn stoddard of marion said, "we just kept hearing this crying throughout the whole neighborhood.

i didn't even knock on the door because i could tell it was starting to go under".. the owners of the goat were very happy that the jehovah's witnesses saved the goat.. .

JWs pretended to be someone else at my door.

this is probably in the wrong section, but i couldn't decide where to put it.

i was raised a jw and i still suffer effects from that kind of upbringing.. anyway, they said they were local community volunteers and they wanted to give me something related to the community.

i didn't open the door but they put a jw tract through it.. i don't think it's right to be so devious about recruitment.

surely there has to be a handul at least.

perhaps they are still there, until they can get things in order to leave...
