Bethel tours.$$$$!!!

if anyone hear gets a chance ,check out the $$$ it costs to do the bethel bull tour!.

just type bethel tours and get the jolt!talk about being taken ,not even free meals(just personal advice on low cost diners etc, nearby!]..

it's sad there a still suckers that buy[$$} the bethel bull emotionally,spititually and financially!

His wife "Sister Unbelieving Husband" dragged his sorry ass on this stupid bus tour. He likely got snookered into going by her telling him they were going to NYC for cheap. Look at her face - she's absolutely tickled pink that her unbelieving husband (beard) is touring with her getting exposed to Jehovah's org. Methinks he comes to the congregation get togethers for the chow (as evidenced by the first picture). Poor guy. He's a good husband for putting up with this sh*t. Imagine the condescending way in which he is probably treated by the brothers on the trip as they are "friendly" to him in so much as it might be a "good witness to him".

I think he'd have been happier fishing or something. I just noticed that's one helluva big Coke bottle in his hands. He must be dying inside.

Yeehaw! A WT study on the bus!

I haven't travelled by bus for years, but the LAST thing I would want to be doing while sucking diesel fumes on the Interstates would be to partaking of THAT.

Other highlights:

"Free night to do laundry!'

"Night in Newark!"

"Optional visit to grocery store!"

"Return home spiritually refreshed and encouraged" - at least the last couple of days of the "tour" have no WT crap to sit through.

I kinda think that the new approach is to basically force the mags on people and NOT engage them in a discussion. I've been approached in the mornings coming out of Starbucks getting my coffee where the local pioneers try to just give me the mags and run before I can say anything.

Cedar Point is WELL worth the trip. Best theme park I've ever been to, it's basically roller coaster Mecca. They have a new one this year that reclaims some world records - makes me weak in the knees thinking about it! They also used to take Canadian (must be hard currency) at par for park admission.

Is this your bio Neil?

Is the MPA designation the one you sign after your name?

Funny thing happened this morning. I got called on by the local JWs. In the past, I always saw them skip my house (I assume I was on the do-not-call list), so I was kind of excited when they called.

I played a little dumb like I knew a bit about the witnesses because I had read the mags in the past and knew some guys in school. We talked about the UN involvement, which they adamantly denied. I ran upstairs to print the letter but I couldn't find the link on here or on the UN website whcih really sucked.

We talked about a few other things (1914/607 etc.) but the problem I had in attempting to engage them in debate is that they didn't even know Watchtower doctrine correctly!!! I tried to talk to them about if how the mags were so important to me and my neighbours, they should be published in full online in the greatest information. They insisted that "oh yeah - they are!" when of course they aren't.

I ended up just having a nice discussion with them (they were two nice older sisters), but they certainly weren't well indoctrinated. They didn't even realize that that JWs accept blood fractions now! Wehn talking about 607, their explanation of the missing 20 years didn't jive with the office WTS explanation. It wasn't like I could tell them, "no no, you are supposed to believe this as the official party line" then shoot it down.

They kept talking about the things I mentioned as "small" or "minor". I ended up feeling pretty bad for them as these were a couple of really nice ladies. The dropped the word "apostate" around me talking about some ex-jws - I played dumb and asked what that meant. The average householder hasn't got a clue what they are talking about.

It was fun, but not as fun as it could have been.

when i was little, i can remember certain brothers?

who would hide small transistor radios in their suit jackets and listen to nhl playoff games via a small earphone instead of paying attention at the meetings.

these weren't teenagers or young guys... some were elders and/or ministerial servants... yet none of them ever seemed to get counselled for this kind of disrespectful behaviour.. did anyone else ever do things like this, when significant sporting events fell on meeting nights??.

I remember frequently going out to my car to check on scores all the time - esp. when on attendant duty.

The topic also reminds me of when the assembly hall in our city was being built. We would be assigned guard duty overnight inside the partially completed building. We brought our hockey sticks one night and played a game inside the assembly hall. We were chastised about it a little after the fact, but really what could be said?
