Dutchie, I just wanted to say before I split... What a great thread this is!

I know you've been a little 'worn out by it', but I'm glad you felt strongly enough to post it! I think it's wonderful that you're that moved by your concern for others (and your own conscience).

And I'm glad others (Naeb especially) have been moved to defend their personal freedom.

THIS IS WHY I LEFT THE BORG!! Who wants to live in a world where we all agree? And yet, that's just what I thought I wanted!

We all judge each other don't we? When you first learn of someone, you make a judgement call on them, then as you get to know them you alter that judgement as you see fit.

The question is, if you've judged someone wanting, can you force them to change? Well, no, you can't force them, but if your intention was to raise the issue that you sometimes are a little "ashamed" by the board and hoped that perhaps that would make some of us stop and think, mission accomplished. Will anyone change? Thats for time to tell.

when we put the fellings and whims of a few disgruntled "active" jehovah's witnesses who come to these boards before the intense feelings, thoughtful commentary or adult playfulness of the majority of posters here - ex witnesses, so-called apostates, etc.

Let's not polarize the issue here.

Incense, I forgot to add, where I live, posting child pornography on the internet is considered both immoral and illegal, another freedom of expression that is not tolerated.

No one is advocating placing child porn on the site anymore than they are advocating making it watchtower.org.

Personally, I LOVE THIS BOARD!! This mix is great. Yes, some here are extremely concerned about those lurking JW's out there, trying to reach them. Wonderful. Don't stop!

And some are simply here to share experiences and have a good time without worrying excessively about who's listening in. Good for them! It's great!

We'll always disagree on where to draw the morality line. I'm sorry to any who can't see that THAT IS A WONDERFUL THING!!
