Was it ever in your heart?
by mamalove ini don't think it ever was in my heart, that is why i have found it relatively easy to leave and not be scared of the fear belief system.
i feel kind of bad for people here who were so immersed that they still get these weird twinges of armageddon fears, etc.
that has to be difficult to still have that looming feeling.

Mamalove--- I was born in. so it was all I had known, but I had always felt that I was wicked because field service and meetings always made me miserable. Not because I was lazy, but I always felt very judged by everyone in the congregation. I think it was partly because I grew up in a very small community and they were very strict, and I apparently, despite my best efforts, never lived up to their standards. There were very few young people in my congo, and I was a pretty young girl. (though I did not know it). No matter how modest I tried to be in my dress, and no matter how many times I pioneered, it didn't matter. I was always an outcast. I have been inactive for a year now, but I still feel pain because I do not have the relationship with my mother that I used to. I felt that she was my best friend, but since I have been inactive, we almost never talk. But even with all of that, I am still happier than I have ever been. When I was in the Org, I had frequent thoughts of suicide. I no longer have those. Hooray for freedom!

Beware of the Strawman argument!
by Farkel inyears ago before i took the time and effort to study logic and argumentation, i went to a market and bought some toothpaste.
it was a little-known brand and it touted "baking soda" as its magic ingredient.
it was also cheaper than the name-brand toothpastes and that helped me in my decision.

Debator---- Apparently you do have a problem with telling us whether or not you have discussed your involvement on this site with your congregation elders. If you have doubts, you owe it to yourself, and God to investigate those doubts.

Like we'll ever settle this once and for all, but here goes; ARE YOU A TRUE CHRISTIAN?
by nicolaou inthe watchtower says; "there is an enormous distinction between true christianity and the religion practiced by those who are christians in name only" - wt 1st october 2009. now, in the light of all the current controversy over the word 'atheist' and what it means can you see how irritating it is to have your frame of reference, be it a religious belief system or something else, redefined by others?
and usually it is redefined by those who have something to gain by the linguistic manipulation.. for the watchtower the gain is easy to see but what about the attempt by many believers to define atheism as a belief system?
could it be that equating rational atheism with belief is nothing more than an attempt to legitimize faith?.

I really don't know what it means to be a true christian. I just know that if someone needs help, I will do whatever I can. I love people, and I put their needs ahead of my own frequently. I hope that means that I am a good person. I don't know about a christian
