There is the true crux. We need to get back to making things other than derivatives in this country.

it was so revealing and informative but was also written without bitterness or malice.
it stirred many emotions within me ...too many probably...anger, remorse, indignation, sorrow, heartbreak, frustration, sympathy....you name it.... a big emotional journey for me....thanks to all for the recommend i would hate to have missed it..... loz x.

I understand your point, I think. But the stimulus packages address the symptoms and worsen the disease. Pretty soon we're going to be spreading the little green pieces of paper that no one outside the U.S. wants anything to do with, and since we don't make anywhere near as much as we buy from abroad, it's gonna be rough once no one wants to sell to the U.S.

New site exposing "jehovahsjudgment"
by middleman inmany of you are already familiar with the watchtower's 10 year association with the un.
there's also a good amount of us that are familiar with the "flagship" rebuttal site of this association---> http://www.jehovahsjudgment.co.uk/watchtower-un-ngo/.
time and time again i have been referred to this website when talking to jw's about this issue.

Oh--it's just at the top, prior to the white background, when the text is still just hovering over the mountain/sky picture. Not a major deal, but on some monitors that can be kinda strange when the contrast between the text color is low compared to the particular background color that it's over.

JW Parents Can permanently injure you. REPLY to GB
by hamsterbait ini find it offensive that gubberningbody can claim that we cannot be permanently injured by the borg, or what our parents do to us to train us in their ways.. is he claiming that we are to blame if we cannot heal?.
go to india.. families of professional beggars deliberately break the limbs of their children so they are deformed.. dont tell me that the victm here cannot blame the parents.... psychological damage can be every bit as far reaching - and inflicted by parents, for cult reasons.. we have heard testimony from so many here, whose minds have been whisked shaken squeazed and violated by the witchtower religion.. i am still getting over mine.
it is not helped by th"revisionist memory" that dubs share.. "they never said anything about 1975" (my mother said that) "were not those who left school without a high school diploma being presumptuous that jehovah would provide for them?

I find it offensive that GUBBERNINGBODY can claim that we cannot be permanently injured by the Borg, or what our parents do to us to train us in their ways.
Clarify: you literally find it offensive that GB has the right and means to claim this, or that he/she actually chose to do so? I'm guessing the latter--in which case: it's one person's opinion. It also seems to be the minority opinion, and rather uninformed--even just the title of the thread alone betrays a disbelief that environment has anything whatsoever to do in determining one's personality.
Perhaps a more realistic (and presumably more well-received) topic might have been something to the effect that the chronic focusing on one's JW upbringing and/or the subsequent negative emotional associations is counter-productive.

Sammie: assuming your fist post above was an attempt to answer my question on behalf of beks (and if so, thank you)--they're equating GDP with the nebulous concept "economic benefit" (which is the only x-axis label the chart itself even mentions--shameful). I'll freely admit not to being an economics expert, but most of the sensible economics explanations and policies I've read come from the Austrian school of economics, and one of that school's adherents, Frank Shostak, explained one of the key limitations of the real-world value of the GDP thus:
The GDP framework cannot tell us whether final goods and services that were produced during a particular period of time are a reflection of real wealth expansion, or a reflection of capital consumption....For instance, if a government embarks on the building of a pyramid, which adds absolutely nothing to the well-being of individuals, the GDP framework will regard this as economic growth. In reality, however, the building of the pyramid will divert real funding from wealth-generating activities, thereby stifling the production of wealth.
All these economics stimulus packages are addressing the symptom, not the root cause, of the economy's problem. Beks may well be correct in saying that 2/3rds of our national economy is consumer spending--but I think this is the root of the problem, not a necessary reality to consider and cater to when trying to come up with a solution. Thinking that we as a nation can spend our way out of a looming economic nightmare is pretty insane. The stimulus package backers (of all affiliations and during current or past administrations) are trying to restart the engine, all the while ignoring the fact that the vehicle's gone over a cliff and is in free-fall.
In this video, Peter Schiff especially explains some of these concepts really well. Please don't let the super-dramatic music turn you off, it's worth watching:

Are you aware that Food Stamps generate something like 1.50 for every dollar spent?
Could you expand on this, explaining functionally precisely what this means?

All of the self-described satanists I've known have never done anything more ambitious than sitting around listening to Ozzie Osbourne music and bitching about the low limit on the credit card mom and dad gave them.
The ratio of Satanists who actually subscribe to it as a religion (or at least as a life-directing philosophy) versus those who would like you to think they are Satanists because they think it's cool is likely nearly identical to the ratio of nomimal Christians versues those who actually attempt to live their lives as Jesus supposedly taught: either way it's probably on the order of 10,000 to 1.
