  Hey Dazzled,

  I cannot sleep. On top of this JW thing. I am fighting a discrimination suit I filed against my former employer Target. A Pentacostal harassed me because of my religion. I told him to stop several times. Target is next on my activist list as well as the church where the pentacostal goes to: Christian Faith Center in Tucson. This church has done its fare share of bizzare things to people. Want to help?

  Hi everyone,

  I was able to hold Silentlambs press conference in Tucson, AZ. There were only two of us but we made the news on an ABC affiliate. Silentlambs and the plight of JW pedophile survivors was brought out during the TV interview. The response from JW leaders in Tucson was: "The allegations are riduculous. Jehovah's Witnesses are the most law-abiding group in the world." My response is: "What dumbasses." I think that egocentric generalization made by the Tucson JW leaders may have done more harm than good for JWs. We are maintanining contact with the new reporter that interviewed us.

  today i sent this letter to the editors of the nyt in response to an article written about bill bowen's plight .

  you wrote an article on 8/11/02 concerning bill bowen's plight with the jehovah's witnesses.

  i am aware that the jw religion has expelled mr. bowen for causing divisions because of his speaking out against a pedophile problem in the religion.

  Hello,

  You wrote an article on 8/11/02 concerning Bill Bowen's plight with the Jehovah's Witnesses. I am aware that the JW religion has expelled Mr. Bowen for causing divisions because of his speaking out against a pedophile problem in the religion. I view this as a form of religious persecution aimed as silencing Mr. Bowen. I also do not think the JW leaders can hide under the cover of the first amendment this time. Child molestation is a crime. People have the right to speak out against this crime. Just because someone joins a religion does not mean he or she waives his or her universal, inalienable human rights as outlined in the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Thank you for your time.

  i have been reading the board today and have noticed alot of ones today are hurting and angry.

  my heart goes out as i have been there many times.

  it is often hard to focus on the good things in our life when the negative seem to push them out.

  These are great sentiments. Some people are so fiiled with anger, or because of a psyhiatric disorders they cannot function or cope. These hurting ones need to be equiped with healthy coping skills. I was wondering if anyone would like to be trained as a peer counselor. You will receive training on how to help people use their thinking capabilities to analyze what needs to be done to heal

  Civil Rights Violation

  this does not really have to do specifically with the jws, but is an experience of a civil right violation.

  when are big religion and big business going to learn that these violation hurt people.. .

  Thanks for the input Amazing. I do not think that Target is all bad. In certain areas of the country employee morale is not the best at Target. The things that have made people suspcious and not trust Target are its reaction to some of the issues that have confronted this corporation. The biggest issue right now is the alleged sweatshops that are making products for Target in other countries and one US. territory. Target is not the only large corporaton that these sweatshop produce merchandise for. Target seems to be a part of the alleged problem.
