Definitely not alone, Falcon. In fact, I remember Floyd Kyte coming to our congregation to give a talk on just that topic. He pointed out that "half the people in the congregation are here to test the other half".

The following is a test of the JW logical response system. This is only a test.......
by Mr. Falcon ini was going to write this whole big thing regarding something that recently happened to me, but i wasn't sure how much feedback it would attract.
therefore, i'll just ask this question:.
has anyone here ever voiced displeasure or experienced difficulties due to clearly rude, incompetant, greedy or otherwise inappropriate behavior from fellow jws, only to be told that you are simply being "tested"?.

I don't see a connection between going to college and whether or not someone is loyal to the GB.
It would seem, though not in every case, obviously, that having a higher education means that one learns critical thinking skills. One learns to ask questions, one learns things contrary to what the WT teaches, and with such knowledge comes a likely departure from the org, resulting in one less publication peddler among the rank and file. College is dangerous in this sense.

How do people of different political parties become good friends? Because they throw aside the fundamental differences and what's left might still be compatible; even enough for a real friendship to flourish.
In this type of a scenario, "acceptance" has to be a two-way street in order for there to be friendship, right? Maybe I am not as evolved or patient as you, but my dealings with JW's since I left the org makes me think you might be a bit naive, though admirably idealistic. And I do admire the love and compassion that you exmplify. Maybe it is your attitude that will make all the difference one day in helping them to leave the organization.

I'd say college.
The average JW kid is going to be approached with college sooner and more frequently than by an apostate.
This is why the WTBTS has to paint college as a boogie man nearly as dangerous as the apostate.

Why would ANY parent do this?
by sabastious inluke 2 49,50: 49 why were you searching for me?
he asked.
didnt you know i had to be in my fathers house?50 but they did not understand what he was saying to them.. why, in all that is good and holy, would any parent inform their son that he was, indeed, the son of god?

The Last Supper: Just Bread?
by PublishingCult injust because the scriptures only mention that jesus passed bread around and said, "eat, this bread means my naughty hottie body", should we assume the only food on the table was some roasted garlic pita .
maybe some hummus .
who says hummus and fish?.

and, Mary knew who her baby daddy was. Gabriel had told her, I guess, when he took Jehovah's turkey baster to her uterus. She had to have told Joseph so he wouldn't think she was a common whore. They already knew Jehovah was the proud pappa. Why wouldn't they "understand what he was saying to them"?
The scripture certainly implies that somebody told Jesus he was the son of God. But who told him? Maybe it was like how they say an annointed person knows they are of the annointed. they just get a funny feeling in their gonads or something.

WTBTS/JW Related Internet Radio Talk Show
by PublishingCult ini have been thinking about this for a while now, and i have decided to launch a non-profit internet radio talk show centered around jw/wtbts issues and related topics that may or may not be specific to the jw religion.
long before i jumped in to the six screens controversy, i considered doing something like this, and i think i am now ready to begin.
the format will be non-sensationalist, informative, educational, rational, objective, and i want no recognition for myself, and as little attention as possible.

PC, Sounds good. I would be interested. I hope you don't mind the Q I asked. Not trying to offend anyone, I know you are an athiest. I will listen in to anything dealing with the WT, but not anti Christian for you well know that is what I am.
Of course you do not offend, at least not me. I think it is important to set aside my own personal feelings about religion in order to openly discuss the concerns that others have about the WTBTS and the JW religion. We simply want to provide objective and accurate information to folks they can go research and see for themselves. I haven't an atheist agenda and I do not feel compelled to impose my beliefs where it would be inappropriate. I know I came on like a bull with my attack on Fearon and his disinformation, but it wasn't like anybody here didn't try to reason with him and give him a chance to walk it back before he went off with his lies and mischaracterization of Klinger's painting in order to express his bitter homophobia, no matter how couched it Jesus and the Bible it may have been. When a man ignores reason, when he doesn't care that he is about to offend and alienate innocent people from his Jesus, he gets called out for the hack he truly is. I am not here to win a popularity contest, and neither is it my aim to offend anyone.
I am sorry you learned about your friend the hard way. You did the right thing in standing up and questioning Johnny. You got smacked down publicly for it in front of all those you thought were your friends. The man will do whatever it takes to perpetuate his hoax, and he does not care about the cost or about truth.
One thing I will say to you pc, you have proved to me this week that your word is true. I've told you things in confidence and you promised to keep it that way and you have. And I respect you as a person for that regardless of our differences in belief. Lil
All I have is my word. Something good has come of this situation; we are now friends whereas we might have remained at the very least indifferrent to one another othewise. It's nice to know where you stand and who your true friends are even if the truth hurts.
