I understand you might take exception the the DF analogy being applied to moderator action, but I do not care, and I do not need a lecture on the differences between this community and the JW community. OK? Fine? Done being touchy?

No one is "disfellowshipped" from this forum. People who break the posting guidelines however can have their account deactivated, as happens on thousands on non-JW related internet forums everyday.
He was kicked off, in other words. JW's who break organization guidelines have their memberships deactivated. Semantics.

In this type of a scenario, "acceptance" has to be a two-way street in order for there to be friendship, right? Maybe I am not as evolved or patient as you, but my dealings with JW's since I left the org makes me think you might be a bit naive, though admirably idealistic. And I do admire the love and compassion that you exmplify. Maybe it is your attitude that will make all the difference one day in helping them to leave the organization.
The positions I take will always contain at least some idealism, it's just the way I live my life. The odds of my family ever treating me more than a dirty apostate are small, but as Lloyd Christmas would say "so you're saying there's a chance!" -Sab

Mob violence is holy-terror-scary and loathsome. This is just the kind of thing, however, the WTBTS is going to use and play up to the JW rank and file as evidence they have the true religion, that the great tribulation has commenced, and scare the JW's into sticking close to the organization and keep peddling WT publications at every opportunity. There shall be an increase in the "preaching work" over this.

How can HOARDERS by so clueless??
by Terry inmy ex-wife was a hoarder.. it happened gradually over the 18 years we were married.. things which change slowly are invisible to us.. each step is rationalized or passed off as quirky or annoying or.....whatever.. one day you look up and your 3 car garage is full of crap and the cars sit outside in the drive way.. the attic is full.
the closets are full.
then, the living room, the bed room.

Both my mother and father-in-law were children during WWII. My mother-in-law, a native of O'ahu, watched in terror from her classroom window as the Japanese flew over and began bombing Pearl Harbor. My father-in-law, was the only child of a very affluent family in Dansig when the Nazi's came through and stripped them of their home, their valuables, and their money. This young Polish-Jew went from tossing his toy truck from the top landing of the grand staircase of their mansion (just to watch the servants run and fetch them for him) for amusement, to sneaking across the barbed wire to steal potatoes and risk being executed. In both their cases, food became scarce and they went very hungry for prolonged periods of time.
Today, if you go into their pantry, you will not find an inch of bare shelf space. The kitchen fridge and freezer is packed. In the garage they have rows of metal shelves stocked with food from floor to ceiling, and yet another freezer packed full of meets and bread. They hoard food. Nothing else, just food. I did not understand why two old people would stay so overly stocked up on food until I heard their story. It makes sense in their case. They know how world events can change your life in an instant and they are not about to be in a position that would leave them to starve as in times past. They never talk about it, but going hungry in their childhood must have something to do with, if only subconsciously.
