Paul also does, they are probably mentioned by other important bible characters to...
(1 timothy 2:13)
i have been wondering why your organization cannot accept evolution?
(when i say "cannot accept" i mean: you see it as anti christian) the reason i'm so curious about this is because by putting this here i hope to get smarter answers than i usually get, and also because you don't seem to put things like quantum theory, string theory, under the "evil scary scientific stuff label", also many religions have accepted evolution as most likely possible, or as something that is ok to believe since god could have used evolution to create mankind, in fact evolution isn't a "religion" and automatically doesn't get you labeled as an atheist, unless you are talking to the wrong person.
i am by no means trying to make you believe in evolution, i will respect you views, i believe every man has free will, well it kind of says it in the bible.

I can give you one of the answers:
They "cant" accept evolution because it invalidates the story in the garden of eden where God creates Adam from dust and then creates Eve from Adams rib. Then they eat a fruit that removes their immortality etc.
This does not work very well with humans evolving from other animals. JWs need to believe that Adam and Eve actually existed becasue Jesus referees to them as actual people (Matt 19:4), so they cant say it is just a story and that Adam and Eve never actually existed.
If they say the Genesis account is fictional or symbolic they would have to preform a lot of other mental gymnastics to explain why Jesus thought they where real. And the JWs don't want to take that route (Many other groups do, but they don't have such a literal interpretation of the bible. JWs are not comfortable picking and choosing as much as other groups, especially when it comes to Jesus), therefore they have to reject evolution no matter what, else they would have to rebuild their faith pretty much from the ground up.
And if they did, they would probably lose most of their members...
i found this amazing song!
and since a big number of the people on this board are unbelievers i thought you might enjoy it ;).
imo it is pure gold!.
You mean things like these?...
It is just a theory.
So you are saying we are apes? How offensive!
If we evolved from apes, why are there still apes? Why don't we see them evolving into humans?
Who are you going to believe? Some men admitting they might be wrong or God who knows exactly how he created everything.
Science have been consistently wrong, they are wrong about this too. What is considered knowledge today is myth tomorrow.
The Bible says that creation is all the evidence we need, if you don't accept that you are dishonest. The fool says in his heart, "There is no God."
Darwin admitted that he could not substantiate his theory with the fossil record, therefore he was wrong. Plus he was not even a real scientist, just a crazy old guy.
Nobody has seen a "kind" change into another "kind".
Something cant come from nothing.
Life cant come from none life.
Scientist have been unable to explain how life originated, therefore evolution is wrong.
Just becasue micro evolution exists, it does not mean macro evolution is a thing. Species can change but they are still the same species, makro evolution is a myth.
If you see a beautiful house, do you conclude that it built itself or that it spontaneously came into existence? Of course not, it must have a creator just like you and me.
The list goes on......

islam, a death cult with 1.6 billion followers.
almost a quarter of the worlds population.
in many places apostasy is punished by death.. jws say they cant kill people for apostasy because they have to obey the laws of the land, but what if the jws ruled the land like the muslims are in many countries?....

Totally shocking that this is happening 2016, when so many amazing advances have been made, people are still stuck in their delusions to the point of murder.
so at around the 46 min mark - the are talking to this guy from ukraine who was a zoologist.. he talks about how he was a staunch evolutionist (who wasn't able to prove evolution to himself, by the way).
then when he studied nature through the lens of evolution - he found that nature contradicted evolution.. his big point came when he said - "imagine emptying a box of letter blocks on a table, and the encyclopedia britannica appears, or could a computer program come by chance.
so who could dna come by chance.".
This is apparently a new series on JW broadcasting which will essentially uses the argument from authority (fallacy) to show that well educated people can be JWs and reject evolution.
There was a second video after this one with a "scientist" who is making the same irreducible complexity argument. (at: 49 minutes)
He is talking about how amazing the numbers of neurons in a certain part of the brain is....
"so when you think of the complexity of all that, how is it possible that that is just by random chance? It has to be guided!"
Guided by natural selection maybe?...
He then tells us that the idea of one God really appealed to him... Since he came from a hindu background with millions of gods. The trinity also took a hit because he thinks it has more than one God... He has been drinking to much of the kool-aid.
as an ex-witness i have enjoyed becoming open to other people's views and understanding.
therefore this o.p is on the subject of psychic powers.
my own exsperience i can't explain rationally, but as a child many times i had dreams that came true in detail, yet many may explain it away as deja vu.
Thanks for the link Cofty, which having read it seemed to dismiss heart felt intuition against rational thinking.
"heart felt intuition" Is basically a quick assessment by your subconscious, which mostly relies on your feelings and experiences.
Intuition in an area you have much experience can be a really good way to asses something fast and with high accuracy.
Intuition in a field you have little expiration in is a good way to trick yourself, thinking the intuition is equally accurate.
It is not very reliable because it faces problems in more complex matters, that usually requires more complex and deliberate thinking.
so we received the obligatory "shoved under the door" memorial invitation and "return to jehovah" brochure the other week.
it also had a hand written note from two elders saying "we love and miss you" etc.... so why then when one of them saw us at the grocery store, did he pretend to not see us and then ignore and quickly walk away?.
the sincerity is wonderful..... dont get me wrong, we dont want any attention from them, but it's an interesting observation anyway.....
The instructions are clear:
Also, please follow closely the instructions in the May 23, 2010, letter to all bodies of elders as you endeavor to invite inactive ones to the Memorial and special talk. As you meet with them, please convey the love and concern of the Governing Body and the local congregation. (1 Thess. 2:7, 8) Offer to help with transportation or to provide any other practical assistance so that they can be in attendance. As noted above, please ensure that they have received a personal copy of the Return to Jehovah brochure. A modest supply of the brochure should be kept on hand (though not displayed) at public witnessing locations for the benefit of inactive ones
This year, in addition to visiting inactive ones, you should make a special effort to invite dis-fellowshipped ones to the Memorial and the special public talk. (See the Shepherding textbook, chap-ter 10, paragraph 1, for direction on who qualify to be visited.) A copy of Return to Jehovah should be left with such individuals. As a reminder, the visit should be kind and positive, but brief.
They are required to convey their love for you. It has nothing to do with actual feelings...
my husband and i have been out for a long time, maybe fifteen years, i must say we are in a bit of a nowhere land spiritually, we find it impossible to attend any other church.
we really resent so much of how they messed up our and our children's lives.
we can't get back all those 25 years we were in.
my first one!
even though i got it saturday, march 26, in the mail in an envelope addressed to "my dear neighbor.".
it's the thought that counts..
