i've been gone for a while but i kind of miss you guys and gals so i decided to see what was up.
for me i found out a few days ago that in my old congregation the gossip about me ( i was first shocked that there was any gossip about me) is that i have started my own cult and i have a few followers (ex jdubs) wow!
i fell on my ass!
I reckon the R&F get so frustrated by what they see going on in the hall and being forbidden to speak about it so.. when they get an opportunity to have an 'allowed' conflict with a DA or a DF one..and/or a good ol' gossip....they just go off on a mission with it....disperses some of the angst and breaks up the tedium...

i appreciate any who tell us what the latest co's talk is about or what was said at the meetings.
i just don't know how you can do it.
knowing that the "truth" is false and even laughable, it boggles my mind that you can still go, listen to the spiritual bullshit and maintain.. how do you do it?.
Its helpful to have people 'in' the know as it were...but I couldnt do it ...I dont know how they hold it all together...

When I met my now hubby it was a while before I told him about my religious past ...although I did indicate that I'd been very religious. He's a confirmed atheist and one day he said 'Please tell me you weren't a JW'...when he found out I was he was horrified and it almost came between us!! I never had heard such an antagonist reaction ...he really despises the way they impose themselves onto people and oppress them with fear and cult type ways...we've had some pretty interesting discussions to say the least...lol... ok...when i left the org, i was quiet for a while....as you are, trying to get used to not being a jw robot, and trying to show the rest of the congregation and former friends and family, ..(like it matters),..that you are still nice, polite, spiritual......... not engaging in criminal acts, not smoking or taking drugs and not becoming the local slut falling out of pubs and clubs at the weekend in an alcohol induced stupor.
then i changed my mind!
not that i started engaging in all of the above....but that i stopped being quiet.
