i'd like to start by saying wow!
i've only just discovered this "world" of ex jw's so i'm still catching up on lots of stuff, my story is a bit long so don't know if people have patience to read :p but if you can bear the reading then i'm happy to share.

.and it's also known as new jersey.. although we now have a generator to heat our house and run the water, we abandonded ship tonight because of the snow/wind, and we're staying with family.
my work days run about 14 hours/7 days a week, and then i have school at night two nights a week.. brutal.. it's a nightmare out there.
still huge trees down all over, all utilities on the ground, and now snow and wind.
Some of us don't appreciate how lucky we are. Take care BOC, hope things get better soon.

i didn't mean being real and trying to heal to rhyme, but essentially, that's why people come here.
and depending on where we are, we need space.
when you leave, one thing you will learn, quickly or otherwise, is what is reality.

did you go a little nuts as you were waking up and making your exit?
i had a few of the symptoms listed in hassan's, combatting cult mind control.
i couldn't pull my thoughts together.
It's a cult that you've been bound up in. Evidence suggests many of us have suffered Post Traumatic Stress, and no wonder. Gradually it gets easier and your thoughts get clearer, still painful, but better. Take care of yourself, find ways to chill out with nothing to think about if you can, or consider some counselling, it helped me.

Compassionate post Ultimate Axiom, thank you, it's so easy to judge. A friend introduced me to the 'truth' ... I'd had a love for god from a young age but had experienced disappointment and frustration with the traditional religions. I studied for about ten years and actually thought all along I'd prove them wrong but couldn't. Researching them wasn't so simple years ago. Of course we were love bombed too and I thought they really did have the love Christ talked about. I had a young family and wanted the best for them, I really thought I was securing their futures, in more ways than one. I was at University when I got baptised but left soon after when it didn't fit with the JW lifestyle. I thought it was a wonderful clean community for our family to grow up in.
Hindsight is a. wonderful thing.
At least my motives were good however mistaken, but it's small consolation.
