i've just had the official results on my pgce.
i'm not posting here to boast, but to encourage any who may have abandoned education because of the pressure as a jw, and who may feel that it's too late to return and achieve such goals.
in the 1980s i stopped halfway through my b.ed honours and accepted a dip.h.e.
Many thanks for the congrats everyone!

Thank you guys. Only here on this site can others understand what it takes to keep going to achieve after what we've all been through.

I've just had the official results on my PGCE. I'm not posting here to boast, but to encourage any who may have abandoned education because of the pressure as a JW, and who may feel that it's too late to return and achieve such goals. In the 1980s I stopped halfway through my B.Ed Honours and accepted a Dip.H.E. so that I could 'pursue kingdom goals' after baptism. I regretted that decision so often in the years that followed.
After being Dfd in 2007 I finally saw the WTBS for what it was. I've lost a great deal, but I rebuilt my life, remarried and went back to Uni in 2009 graduating with a First Class Honours degree in 2012 at 60 years of age. And now I have just gained a PGCE after a year's post grad study in education.
I can't even put into words how wonderful this feels. I would advise anyone contemplating to go for it!

since some time i post here on this forum... i am always willing to help people or to express my opinion if it helps someone.... i have already posted something about myself but i haven't told much about my history.. i am married with a nice wife and i have three kids (two of my own and a stephdaughter).
since a year i do not go to meetings and i unofficially stopped with the "truth".
i had a meeting with some elders expressing my concerns with the teachings and with the slave.
It's very sad to hear your pain and isolation. You don't say whether or not your wife and kids are still entrenched in the WTBS, but I'm guessing they may be. Advice from an oldie? Start really talking to your wife about your feelings, women can usually relate to emotional pain. Get your son checked out, could he be on the ASD spectrum, or is something disturbing him? Ask for help from professionals, there may be underlying issues. Fade or not, branch out and start meeting new people, whether from volunteering or through a hobby. Stretch your world. Finally, get as far away as you can from the WT org. There's no happiness for you or your kids in staying anywhere near it.

if you where a brave little witness soldier, or even a pioneer (gasp), you must have seen a lot of strange shit.
the probability of encountering "interesting" people or getting yourself into weird situations is pretty high.. i'll start.
i have to get them together, but today i remembered this ones:.
To brighten our days we used to challenge each other to include random phrases into our presentations. That gave us some laughs. E.G. "So, when you look at the intricacy of your PORCH LIGHT, do you wonder who might be the light of the world?"
