  Day 2 of the Convention is over ... what's missing?

  day number 2 is done.. there was an audio drama, sure, it adds some excitement, hey, its different.. final talk "stay close to jehovah, as jeremiah did" ended with the release of the book ... god's word for us through jeremiah ... not a verse by verse consideration of prophecy, rather, what we can learn from jeremiah's life as a prophet, considers information from jeremiah and lamentations.

  (of course informed readers of this site knew of this release already.).

  noticibly missing ... jesus christ ... to me it was painfully obvious.. one talk i think was numbing our mind to accept the generation bomb tomorrow.. i couldn't help but realize that throughout the convention so far, the vast majority of scriptural references are from old testament (yes, it was hard not to say hebrew scriptures, so i just did).. i didn't realize it so much in the past, but it seems like jehovah's witnesses are trying to accomplish what the nation of israel couldn't, follow laws.

  Well said Aussie Oz.

  Debator - This is a site of support for those who are leaving or have left the WTBS...some of us have suffered terrible trauma and heartbreak because of their legalistic twisting of scriptures. Did you expect us all to be praising the Organisation for some obscure reason?

  if being one of jw's is truly behind you, why do you visit this site years later to discuss the subject ?

  i know why i do but am curious why others do and how long it will continue.

  when will enough be enough?.

  I found this site a few months ago...I like the people here and enjoy following their updates as well as the wealth of info they offer...I too have people still in the Borg...all my adult kids in fact, so its important for me to know whats happening to their minds in there....and then maybe in return for the healing I've experienced here I may get the chance to say something that helps someone else in their healing process....

  I'm still waiting to find out myself...I still have a love for God and belief in the Bible ...it will stay personal unless I find a 'place' where I feel enough trust to worship....

  At the end of the gospel of John I believe the scriptures note that if all the words Jesus had spoken were written down the world would not be big enough to hold the scrolls....anyway I dont believe he needed or wanted to write his words down...it was enough that he spoke them... and preferred the differing perspectives to be told in writting ....

  I remember when my sons were young and they both loved football, played well and were invited to play for local teams and we had to stop it happening because it was so disapproved of and the Saturday morning league would've messed with the field service arrangements....

  I feel so guilty about it now....how could I have done that to them?....
