  i hope the powers-that-be in brooklyn are paying close attention to what is happening in state college, pennsylvania with respect to the hideous pedophile scandal at penn state university because it speaks directly to their own handling of pedophilia.

  here is a news release about the matter:.

(ap) -- penn state's investigation into the jerry sandusky scandal concludes that the administrators who fielded a 2001 complaint about him created a dangerous situation for future victims by not reporting the matter.. the freeh group's report issued thursday said that in order to avoid bad publicity, president graham spanier, football coach joe paterno, athletic director tim curley and vice president gary schultz ''repeatedly concealed critical facts.''.

  yes during this year's audio drama about jesus' death it was said from the platform that the media is going to be spreading lies about jehovah's witnesses and that we should pay no attention to them.

  did they say this at your convention location?.

  also during the drama about marriage it was obvious to me that brothers are not reaching out for privileges the way they used to.

  last saturday i was home with my wife,having a leisurely brekky pottering around in the kitchen ,then i noticed her standing still pondering ,what`s up i asked , wife :i thought i heard someone knocking ,i looked out the window to see two middle aged guys exciting my front drive.why didn`t you tell me they were their,i didn`t hear them.

  i would have engaged them in conversation , but my wife doesn`t think i ought to,just let it go ,is her motto.. but my point is : i`m not deaf , and i didn`t hear them at the door , we were both in the front room ,my wife only thought she heard someone at the door only to be proved right observing them leaving i was in my pj`s and dressing gown so was not going to pursue them.

  we have been living here nearly 5 years now and i can honestly say they have never been on our doorstep more than 4 times if that , i personally have only encountered them 3 times at the most.

  You couldn't hand out invitations to a wedding or a shower at any meetings

  A man and woman weren't allowed to drive to meeting or service together alone (they might start screwing)

  You couldn't work out at the YMCA.....(but as I argued, you could go to a hospital.....all of which were associated with churches)

  A servant would be removed for watching a rated R movie

  No denim skirts or dresses allowed

  One 'brother' was removed from the baptismal pool because the CO thought he was too fat. The irony? The 'brother' giving the talk was even fatter.

  Elders could golf with worldly customers/employees....but their kids couldn't play school sports

  But I have to say, they all pail in comparison to my current favorite:

  Sparlock and playing with magic toys means you cannot be God's friend......however, you can spend a family vacation at the Magic Kingdom known as Disneyland.

  Its all so surreal...........

  howdy guys and gals!.

  personally, my life has been fantastic.

  it's like a massive weight has been lifted off of me, especially when it comes to having to go to the meetings.

  Its fantastic. I fight the bitterness of wasted years as an elder.....years I should have been enjoying life; but trying to focus on new things and enjoying each day.

  You think that is funny.....try asking them what a scripture says.....or even better, throw out a few dates...like 607 and ask them to explain it.

  98% of JWs know absolutely NOTHING about their own religion.

  Does it matter if they're happy?

  this is something i am conflicted about.. since leaving the jw religion, i have generally thought there are many jws i should leave alone.

  if they are happy in the religion, i reasoned, why try to force a change in their beliefs, particularly among those older jws who have spent so long serving the wts?

  certainly, i'd be willing to help any jw who clearly didn't seem to fit the religion, or couldn't live up to its rules, but there are some jws who i think would be happier in than they would be without it.. otoh, i have been thinking recently, that these jws by their presence in the religion, are providing the power to the society that allows them to damage/ruin so many other jws lives, so perhaps it doesn't matter what one jws personal situation is, perhaps i should be trying to 'free' everyone i can in an attempt to contribute to the society's eventual downfall.. what are your opinions on this?.
