The vast majority of witnesses are completely living in 'chosen ignorance'......they are terrified to break social circles.
I'll never get over how people continue to choose stupidity.
the recent letter being us to come to detroit shows that jws are beginning not to take the gb seriously anymore.
the buzz following the meeting was that the letter was unprecedented in its tone.
this coming from long time jws of 30 years plus.

was i lied to?.
are the members of a congregation even mildly aware of how many people who belong to their very own congregation were recently baptized?
.
Typical publisher of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Most couldn't tell you who the elders are or the difference between a regular and auxiliary pioneer

I loved Magnum's post above. True words.
The average Jehovah's Witness can't tell you basic theology about the organization. They are so lost and about as deep as a thimble.
For those of us that were kids in the 70's and 80's .....this organization looks vastly different today
where in the christian greek scriptures do disciples of christ record how many hours a month they preached.. " " " " 10 hours for women and children and slack husbands with no ambition.
" " " " do they record how many back calls / return visits they made in a month.. " " " " have they set down how many bible studys they had in a month.. " " " " do they have pioneers ,special pioneers , aux.pioneers , with goals to reach each month.. " " " " do they have d.o.
, c.o., zone servants , etc.etc.. " " " " where in the christian greek scriptures is the word " organisation" applied to christianity.
Wait, does this mean they have gone beyond the things written??

Thank you to all!!! Appreciate the feedback....
LongHairGal: the 'organization's' treatment is particularly disgusting.....I wrote an earlier blog on that:

as many of you posters know by now that my mom has been a devout jw for 40 years and just cannot accept the fact that i am no longer a jw and feel that i am being deceived by apostates and will be destroyed at armaggeddon.
well the other day we had another knock down debate about "false prophecies" and the wts.
my mom insist that the wts are not false prophets but merely had many "wrong expectations" the same as other bible writers and disciples of christ.
The issue isn't 'expectations' or 'prophecies'..........it's why they are commenting on it AT ALL.
The Bible clearly, succinctly, without a shadow of a doubt, says that no man should be concerned with timetables or 'end times.'
So why are they commenting on it at all? Much less for over a century?
trying to fade... using the mentally depressed, bi-polar, etc.... was eating out with husband.
nice evening chatting and relaxing.
ready to head home and chill for the night.
I'm always amazed by these stories.
Who cares what they think.
Look at them and ask them to use the holy spirit that only they have to explaing overlapping generations to you.
on the service meeting there was a part covering a couple of pages from the tms guidebook chapter on warmth and feeling.
rather than coaching the r&f on how to make a school talk sound warm, it focused on the people that jws meet in their ministry.
basically, the part could have been labelled "how to fake warmth and feeling.
LOL.....why are you shocked? The Gospels are filled with examples of Jesus teaching the apostles this very same thing.......
....oh
.....wait....
It took me awhile to date. I'm not going to lie and say I was an angel when I left the organization and started dating. I wasn't......I went through a lot of women........it was a repressed reaction to growing up in a cult and being married at 19. At 38, I went bonkers.
It's difficult to navigate. I wish I could say it would be easy to find a great relationship. It isn't. And it's made worse by our lack of experience. However, keep working at it. There are some fantastic people out there that are worth your time!
