when i first came to this forum i was of the belief that those of us who were still in due to family reasons were few in numbers perhaps one in a thousand in the jws.
soon i came to the realization that there were many more.
we have dozens of posters here who are mentally out but still in.
I believe there are many that continue to 'associate' due to family ties, etc........but they don't believe it, couldn't tell you anything about their 'religion'.....and aren't really hardcore 'apostates'....
......they basically just hang around ... they know it's absurd and will even tell you it is..... but just keep hanging around due to social of family connections.

i thought it would be important to clearly point in the recent talk by governing body member stephan lett, that he did in fact deliberately lie concerning what he described as lies and false information by apostates, concerning the organization being permissive toward people in the organization who had been involved in pedophilia.
the truth of the matter is thats exactly what the organization has been doing and perhaps for a long time.
the recent candace conti law suit where she was awarded 28 million dollars was levied against the wts for its irresponsible behavior by the elders who gave no notification of the accused jonathan kendrick that he had been charged with pedophilia and spent months in jail for his actions .
I'd say the fact that he claims he 'just knows' he is going to heaven to judge us....... pretty much makes anything else he says a moot point.

as a witness, i knew several men who attempted to grow beards.
when they did, and attended meetings, it did not take long to be talked to by elders and told, "as spiritual men, they should not display an outward form of rebellion.
" why was this a form of rebellion?

so, some of you may have seen my thread from yesterday about my wife waking up.. we had further discussion yesterday evening after i sent her the pbs video on the abuse scandals plaguing the watchtower.
she was so furious and pissed off at wt hq.
apparently a close relative of her's was abused by an elder and the only reason he was reproved and removed as an elder was because he confessed.
She knows it exists and you have it. Let it fester for awhile......let curiosity take it's course.....she will come to you when she is ready....
It will chew at her....... and that book, along with Christian Freedom ends the JW life forever......
today i added a new article to my blog that shares a bit of astounding evidence of just how ridiculous it is for a jw to tell anyone anywhere that jws abstain from transfusion of blood, and plasma in particular.
this article is based on two studies authored by medical staff at duke university's center for blood conservation, a program that is heavily touted by the active "noblood" crowd among jws.
one of these studies contains a real whopper of a piece of information!
so the bible reading talks about some "good" appointed man who valued the office more than his wife and turned her over to the crowd to be repeatedly raped until she died.. then the sick hoser dismembers her and sends the body parts around the nation.
later the "faithful" jews from eleven tribes go up to do battle with the one "bad" tribe at god's okay and suffers defeat...twice!
finally the third time god lets them win.. wt says that we have to realize that women were expendable in those days.
Jehovah's Witnesses have long shown disrespect for women:
"you young ones, are you worried about college, a career, retirement?
the end is so close!".
how many of us have heard that and are better (or worse) for it?.
There is no greater proof that JW's are a CULT than their constant desire to keep you from being a more educated person.
It is proof the entire 'belief' system is based on fear and control.
