  Sagittal Cranio Synontosis

  last may 2002 my 3 month old grandson had to have major skull surgery - he was diagnosed with saggittal cranio synontosis.

  this is an affliction that causes a baby`s skull to be fused together at birth - normally a baby`s skull is in separate sections to enable the brain to grow.

  in order to `fix` the skull a 2 cm strip of skull was taken from his skull from his forehead to the base of his skull.

  This is something I did not have to deal with but, I learned of it when I was Pregnant with my 3 rd child.

  I guess it was becoming more common then and they educated all the moms to be on every little mishap possible! Gave me nightmares!

  Fortunately for all the brave little ones, they heal fast after operations and do fine. No one would ever know they needed a little tweaking after birth.

  As for the blood issue your mom was so wrong! But remember most dubs feel they know it all! It comes from thinking we are Jehovahs People and we have the answers to the universe at the tip of our fingers.

  Like you said the blood wasnt even needed. Most doctors today DONT want to use it but prefer to have it available just incase. Which makes sense. How would you feel if you wished to save a childs life and their own parents tied your hands???

  You did well by standing up to your mom! Believe me I know it is hard to tell your own Mother to Shut Up! I am very much a rug when it comes to my parents so to me you were very brave!

  I have not understood why a child who cannot decide for themselves is forced to make a stand on blood. What kind of stand is that? They cant even tie their shoes!

  Youre a fabulous mother to have gone through so much along side your child.

  WTS bans American football for "true"...

  in a magazine article, the wts has warned the r&f dubs that going to the football this new year is "pagan" and is engaging in a "false religious festival".. to support this teaching, the wts quotes from the encyclopedia britannica:"football games in the u.s. have all the external trappings of religious festivals .

  one side representing evil and the other good, depending upon the viewpoint of the members of the audience.

  leading the congregation are the priestesses (cheerleaders) .

  Ever since I started coming here I have learned how The GB seems to be all about controling people and then blaming The R&F if they believed what they said "A Good Christian" should do!

  I am Mexican and nice pinatas were baned because they"MIGHT" have pagan origens......not because they do!

  Now, The GB has always had it out for football,rugby,and hockey but, this is crazy!

  There is a thread here some where about Hawaiian Luaus and how The GB makes them sound ok!

  Which I find odd because they are so rooted in pagan practice it stinks! It is not even that long ago Hawaiians were doing false worship to their pagan gods and yet here i the quote,"Although the luau may originally have had some connection with false practices, the word has simply come to refer to a Hawaiian banquet. Many christians may therefore conscientiously feel that they can participate"

  What a crock!! I mean I will go to a luau because it is obvious pagan doesn't matter to Jehovah or Jesus anymore! They are not holding us to old testament (Hebrew Scriptures)standards! It is too hard these days to seperate pagan and non pagan traditions. There are just too many and you'd go NUTS!

  Which is just what they wish us to do! Keep looking this way and that until we can't stand alone anymore and are crawling and saying,"Please GB,please, tell me what I will do next!"

  Football is just a fun sport same as anyother! My son for one will play if he so chooses!

  i have been awaiting, nay willing my "inactive persons' shepherding call" (whatever) and it hasn't happened yet!.

  At my current Hall (I have a child who wishes to remain JW and so I attend with )

  These Elders are mostly ok. They gave an announcment stating that if a person has not been attending this person has by thier actions disassociated themselves . They went on further to say that thier would be NO ANNOUNCMENTS of any dissassiciations of such ones.

  I think this is 1 because they all have relitives who have gone inactive and 2 because some of these elders realy do fear Jehovah. They got up on a local needs talk once because alot were complaning they din't diss someone and they said it was better to error on the side of mercy.

  Thing is we have been assigned some new elders. When I say assigned I mean these guys live OUTSIDE our territory and were elders in thier old Halls. Now all of a sudden they are in ours and elders right away.

  Some of us find this strange as we did not need anymore elders. It feels like our old elders shoulders are being looked over.

  I let my children know that if they were to be baptised in "The Name Of The Father And The Son, And Jehovah's Holy Spirit Annionted Organization" that I wouldn't allow it.They agreed Are those the words they use now? This is what I have heard. If that is what they say....where can I find that in writing?

  I have been telling my children that Jehovah needs no one to defend Him! He is The Almighty!

  We need only lead lives in The Christ!

  Christmas and the Cross

  talking about christmas and the cross will stir a debate with any dedicated jw but the same idears can be found in other churches for one my own church the adventists.. the weekend before this last xmas we were told in hushed tones we would be haveing visiters from another adventist church from the other side of canberra.

  some saints from this church were haveing problems with all the agenda planned for xmas and were just not happy with xmas trees and presents being given to the kids there for the xmas celebrations.

  we were told these people would be worshipping with us where xmas was limited to a sermon about xmas and the kids sung some carols.

  So barry,

  As an Adventist if you disagree with some of the teachings thats ok?

  And if they believe that Jesus died on the cross (something highly probable) Why not have them in the church?

  I know my personal reason for not liking them but what are Adventists reasons?

  Is there a basic outline of beliefs? Such as , Articles of Faith? Or do they vary from congregation?

  Are you a practicing Adventist and if so why did you choose this religion above the others?

  You are Adventist?

  And they have a lot of same beliefs as JW?

  I had heard there are some Adventist roots in The JW religion but, I do not really know much about them.

  My sisters fiances fam was Adventist and I was told they didnt do the holidays for many years and just like 4 years ago started to.

  Do you celebrate?

  And the cross your faith finds offensive?

  What are your Articles of Faith? Or basic outline of beliefs?

  Not saying I am converting.2 Cults in my life are enough. lol

  I am just curious.

  I actualy used to be a Mormon!

  Not a surprise I guess....Traded one cult for another

  I became Mormon because I was engaged to one. I became serious about for a time even after he and I broke up.

  There is a thread some where about Baptisim for the dead. Refiners gave some good pionts on it.

  Basically it is giving those a choice who are dead and awaiting the resurection a chance to be brought back on the Celestial Earth to live with Elohim and Jesus.

  There are 2 other kingdoms and to Mormons no one dies!! No hell ether.

  But the greatest reward for serving God is to be made a God just like Our Creator. To Mormons he is not the only God there is a chain of Gods going back because where did Our Creator come from? Well, he was created silly

  It seems logical for a time but, then there are other aspects.
