That's too funny......that is one thing I can't stand is how so many look for Satan's influance in every thing!
Leaving no joy in music...art...or the theatre for anyone!(All God given gifts)
For years my daughter has had to put up with many closed minded people in our last cong calling her ART demonic!

One sister would not let her give a picture of a kitty cat to her daughter...said it was demonic..**sheesh**
She draws in the ANIME style most of the time but also ancient Japanese style and is learning others too.

They hurt her feelings more times then I can count on this subjet.
Fortunatly there were others who LOVED her work and made up for some of it.

ok...for those who just had thanksgiving....or those who might cook one of these for x-mas......here's how to properly cook a turkey!!.

step 1) go buy a turkey.

step 2) take a drink of whiskey, scotch, or jd.

Step 1) Go buy a turkey.
Step 2) Take a drink of Whiskey, scotch, or JD.
Step 3) Put turkey in the oven.
Step 4) Take another 2 drinks of whiskey.
Step 5) Set the degree at 375 ovens.
Step 6) Take 3 more whiskeys of drink.
Step 7) Turn oven the on.
Step 8) Take 4 whisks of drinky.
Step 9) Turk the bastey
Step 10) Whiskey another bottle of get.
Step 11) Stick a turkey in the thermometer.
Step 12) Glass yourself a pour of whiskey.
Step 13) Bake the whiskey for 4 hours.
Step 14) Take the oven out of the turkey.
Step 15) Take the oven out of the turkey.
Step 16) floor the turkey up off of the pick.
Step 17) Turk the carvey.
Step 18) Get our self another scottle of botch.
Step 19) Tet the sable and pour your self a glass of turkey.
Step 20) Bless the saying pass and eat out

I am going to study everything on it....

I know some of my posts can be annoying because I sound so JW....I was active in this Faith for 14 years b4 being thrown out.I have still been attending since then...so 15 years plus soon.

Even though things went the way they did....I don't think I can leave....so much of what I learned thier is in my heart and embedded in my mind.

There are beliefs I hold dear and as fact...in my Oppinion....like trinity....

I went to Catholic sites about that one and they only convinced me more that the trinity is not real.....(in my oppinion)

if we are/were his people, we would have got out of babylon the great before entering the ranks of jehovah's witnesses.

the question is - why is he saying my people, who are the " my people" that he is talking to and where are such ones to "get out from" ?

I have to take time to study more of your work...but I so think your right about who BTG is!!

I mean babylon was the 7th wonder of the world....a very magnificent POWERFUL government! Isn't that what the U.S.A. is? This country is a baby nation in years and yet look at all the advancements in medicine....technology...sciences....WAR.....and so wealthy too! Even many of the poor here wear gold jewlery and dress in Gucci!

I have family from another country and the U.S.A. in all it's dealings has kept these people poor. Can't have thier southern neighbors becoming equel to them much less mayby "Gulp" more powerful!

The U.S.A. is the "PUPPET MASTER" of many countries and peoples...including thier own.

Thing is "pro" how does one flee ?

I will have to get back to your site and do more of my own reaserch too.

The Night the Elders called me.

hey all,.

left the org approx.

one month ago, so i'm freshly out and still working my way through the depression of losing my three best friends... but anyway, not important, what i was wondering was if any of you got this line from the elders the night you went to meet with them... so here's my story, take it or leave it.. i'm a homosexual, i've known since i was young, not raised in "the truth" but converted when i was seventeen, four years ago... anyway, i suppressed it, etc, until i decided that i wanted to leave the org.

Welcome to the board!! This is one of the best places you could be to get suport and healing!

Although you sound very together with your life outside the org.

Your meeting sounds very familiar to me as mine name called...laughed....and even cut down one of my children! All for "LOOSE CONDUCT" It was as "sf" put it...spiritual rape....and reading your post and other peoples on this board often brings me to tears.

The WONDERFUL thing is.....is that all the people who I was taught I should never speak with are there for me! All the so called Apostates are willing to give me a hand and pull me up.

I do have an unusual case though where a few JW friends stay intouch with me and even do things with me...out of townlol

They know my circumstances and felt the disfellowshipping was UN-RIGHTIOUS and so choose to be more like Jesus and reach out to me and my children.

I am attending meetings in a new cong where it seems they go by Jesus teachings more. Alot of them say what the Watchtower writes is advice and commentary and that to not have MERCY is a sin. I was so impressed I attend every meeting prayerfully and looking at the WT lesson as advice and commentary makes it more enjoyable! Where as before it was a presure because, I felt I had to do it the bibles way PLUS what the governing body said. It was like having Torah and Kabalah or something....you know? I have been to Jewish sites where they say and The Great Rabbi Finklestien of Rochester says.... And you have to do it if your a good jewish person.....That's how it felt. So I hope this cong is 4 reals because I so enjoyed todays Watchtower thinking of it as advice and not Ironclad LAWS!

Anyway neighbor!!! Sorry for your bad experiance...we all understand here....and welcome to the world outside!!

holiday angst

i grew up as a witness.  forced into it actually by my mother.  i was originally baptised catholic and spent a lot of time with my catholic grandma.  i hated the whole jw thing.  never accepted any of it.  just went to every damn meeting with mom and abstained from any life affirming childhood experience because i was a well behaved kid.. <p>here's the problem:  now that i am a grown-up, the holidays are a nightmare for me.  i simply can not enjoy them.  i have to approach them from an adult point of view but with a child-like longing for something i have missed.  it doesn't help that i spend some of the holiday with my boyfriend's family where his parents still treat him like a child and shower him with expensive gifts.  i give gifts as well but my need for them, both from an economical standpoint as well as an emotional one, is still great.  i know it's not about the gifts but i feel that i have missed out on some shared cultural experience that leaves me feeling like only part of a person.  it is hell on the self-esteem.  this year, i am turning down the christmas morning at his house and will preserve my dignity at home with my 6 year old daughter.  she will have the christmas experience as best as i can construct it.  </p>.

<p>now, for all of the current jw's out there, please hold your comments.  i go to a nice presbyterian church now and am very happy to have all my spiritual needs met especially wrt to christmas.  i would like to hear from the grown up children of jw's who also missed out.  is this a normal feeling?  how do you deal with it?  </p>.

I am so sorry you can't get on with your life compleatly.

When a person chooses to leave a way of life they should be able to build for themselves a new one that makes them happy and satisfied.

I think starting a new life is like moving to a new school when your a child.......you don't forget the old one...but the new one is very different and Foriegn.

When I was a kid my parents moved alot for awhile and I was always changing schools and homes.

I had this game I used to play with my self when walking into a new school......I would pretend I had always been there. I'd just close my eyes...regroup and walk in.

The goal was to speak to every new person as if they were an old friend and not let myself feel uncomfortable during the new schools RITUAL of the day.To pretend that's how it always was and always would be.

I know it worked not only by how I felt but, because many kids would comment about how they felt like they always knew me.When I became a teen It only took 2 days to get used to this one high school I moved to.

So try Patches to go about you New life and make it your own wonderful world the best you can on this crazy planet.

So you know....I am a disfellowshipped JW who plans on returning....still and all I am your neighbor and fellow human ....I want all people to be as happy as they can with the life they choose.

That's why I gave to you this advice. Jehovah's sun shines on everyone...and his rain waters the fields of all.

women and augusta

this probably has been debated hear already, but after reading .

another op-ed article this morning on the subject i thought i would .

see what people thought about allowing women members at augusta.. most if not all of the articles i've read support women members being .

The right now men and women are trying to find common ground so women can be thought of and treated as equel.

This is a good and noble pursuit but, there should be places women can go and be with just other women and the SAME should be for men.

So many woman want equality at all costs and so many men would love to view women as such that they forget privacy.

For instance.....we are of the opposite sex and chemical reactions can happen....not that people run around like animals in heat but, often there are places a woman (and I am sure even men) would just like to be left to relax.

Example....when I was a younger woman and I went to the health club....I couldn't get a good work out! Always some guy OR guys would be staring or coming up and handing me lines...etc. At 1st it's flatering but, I mean it gets to be disruptive and lets be honest....I didn't want to make up for a work out. Then one day came womans work out world! I was so HAPPY!!! I could now go and work out and RELAX. I love that kind of thing...you know.

Now I am sure men would love a place to go and not have to worry of how they look and belch without a condesending look.

I don't think it is a mark of equality that a mens club has been forced to allow women in but, rather a mark of insecurity on women fighting for such things. The existance of such places do not make woman less equal to men but, compleatly equal in that we are confident enough in ourselves to let men have a place alone where we don't get to peek in!

Jesus' Name

ok i have a question...does anyone know why we call jesus.....well jesus...i mean he was jewish and his hebrew name was yeshua.

so why did the whole world adopt the greek version of his name?

i do like it and all but, with jehovah now...depending on where you live you call him by his name in your language not the hebrew language.

So can someone tell me why we don't personalize Jesus to our own cultures and languages........and since we don't....why do we use the GREEK instead of the Hebrew?
