My mother told me today that the end is so close

she has been a faithful jw for over 50 years.

she was taught that the end was coming in the late 50's.. today she said that the terrible conditions in the world today prove that the end is near.

i told her that i. think that conditions in the world were a lot worse during ww1 and ww2 and it looks like things.

circuit assembly / what did they say ??

this afternoon i attended the ca, pioneer / pioneer / pioneer / pioneer, everything else you might need to do in life is not important.

focus on the new system, and making disciples !

and near the end of the session, the district overseer made a quick but noted comment.

so we walk in Tim Horton's, and yep, you guessed it, about 20 JW's.

My granddaughter say's "How can you tell, they're JW's? 'cause they're all dressed alike?". ...she's only 10..

I looked around the room,...and was so glad I wasn't with them. (I didn't know anyone) We sat down, only a few feet away, I could have said something, but I didn't. Just breathed a deep sigh of relief that I wasn't a JW, and my husband and my granddaughter and I were going to get up from our table and go do somthing fun. Later meet up with my also non -JW children and enjoy a family sit down meal in a nice restrauant.

No guilt, no fear. I've come a long way. go me.

i've read some of his bio, but i can't figure out how he got to be popular.

he's even had at least two guest appearance on the simpson's.

thank you all. I think I got it. He's a brilliant man, but or inspike of his handicapp, and will to continue, he obtained (I liked this phrase) 'rockstar' status.

very interesting.

I'm imagining that he also has a great sense of humor.

Elders in their 20's?

my little sister called me just now.

exciting news - stop the presses - her husband has been made an elder.

she is 27 and he is 26... is that not a little young to be an elder?

An elder in their 20's???? As a 39 year old woman I would ROTFLMAO everytime they opened their mouth.

I thought the same thing. Some kid come in here tellin me a little sumtin' sumtin' I don't think so.

Me: I changed your diaper, you get on outta' here.

Memorial Talk

can anyone get hold of the memorial talk for this year ??

i have to assume it would be a new talk since they have reopened the heavenly calling once again.. it would be refreshing .

i don't think it will happen that way.

How cool would that be? You could carry in several copies of the talk and pass them around so everyone can follow along.

Or you could memorize it and whisper what he's about to say...or look up the scriptures, before he mentions what they are. Everyone will think your psyshic.

My father is an arss!!

you know....i realize that my father isn't the most personable person, but good god we dont talk that often, and i just called to ask him a couple questions about my grandmother because i've started to do my family tree...he was just really cold.

and when he didn't ask why i was wanting this info i said, "the reason i'm asking is because i've started my family tree.

" his reply?

I get the same reception from my parents too. I just finally gave up.

How different with my children, my 23 yr old son calls me the other night. Slightly intoxicated..and asked the stupidest questions at 2:00 in the morning. I laugh and answer the question...then call him back the next day to ask him what the hell he was thinking. He appoligized and said he didn't even remember it. I know many parents would be upset, but it really made me feel good that he thought of me.
