i was young and naive... and a bit stupid, too.
A couple years ago, I got a message from a guy I had went to school with in the 5th grade.
He just wrote to me to say, he always thought of me as a friend. I thought that was pretty nice. I remembered him as the fat pimply boy that everyone made fun of, ...... I was nice to him 'cause I felt bad for him. Kids can be so cruel.

i live with my hubby and children outside of my native country.
we will be going home for a vacation soon after many years.
we're faders and most of our jw relatives have adopted a don't ask-don't tell policy about our decision and we are perfectly fine with it.

pell grant is a federal grant for low income people that wants to go to college but doesn't have that much money to support it.. ok, here's my story.... my ex makes good money...i get divorced but they still use the "last" years tax...meaning, even though i'm not "making" that money anymore "too bad".. i've been in college for 2 1/2 years now, ending my first degree, signing up for my ba.... i was just approved for pell grants and "other" federal assistance for college!!!!!!!!.
i've been after them for 2 years and it's finally arrived.... what does that mean for me????.
my loans won't be 15,000 per degree but rather more like 4,000....i don't have to worry about buying my books anymore.

correct me if i'm not understanding this phrase, 'spirit directed organization'.. my understanding is that the watchtower has recently taught ( someone may remember the exact watchtower that this was taught ) that the anointed and every jehovah's witness has the same holy spirit, no more no less.. nothing special is directing the watchtower society when it comes to understanding the scriptures.

why then do they keep on using this phrase, that they are being directed by holy spirit and still use it when asking one of the baptism questions.. if they have no 'special knowledge', how is it that they write talks about being directed by holy spirit especially when it comes to distrct convention talks.. blueblades.
Last Friday, two sisters' came to my door to offer a biblestudy. (yes, I signed up again onthe wt website) I told them what I really wanted was to learn a little about their beginnings and how they came to their understandings.
She said she could only offer me a bs..no history lesson, but I could get a proclaimers book at the library, I told her I had already seen at and I had questions about some of that too. She said, I could come to a meeting and maybe afterward I could talk to an elder.
BUT...she did tell me about getting direction from HS and his spirit directed org. I said...OH..wait..and you think YOU are the ones god choose? ..... She showed me some scriptures in Acts about circumcision. I was a bit disoriented trying to figure out how we got from Gods Holy Spirit to penis'.
Also, when talking about how the "light gets brighter" ...she gave an anology about a fourty year old still on breast milk.
She's supposed to call back and see if I want a bible study with one of their books. I'm going to ask for a bible study without the book.

a friend (who no longer attends meetings) told me about an incident about seven years ago in north carline involving one of her male friends.
this friend has ceased believing the society's diatribe for some time and was only staying in it in order to associate with friends and family.
he had visited a friend in a town about 30 miles away and heard a sunday talk from one of that congregations elders.

i thought it was only a figure of speech, until my mother did it to me for real.
i think i was about 10 at the most, and i said the word "piss", which to my mother was the equvalent of the f-word.
I kinda remember it..but I must have been really young, because I don't remember what it was for.
I do remember certain words that could get you knocked across the room..included were..."fuck" which was only used once when asking what it meant. "Punk" and "Fart" ...was considerered just as bad as the 'f' work, getting you the same punishment,
also...having the same meaning and same punishment, was putting your thumb on your nose and wiggling your fingers.
